drewcwsj
Is it just me or does it say that voice control only works through Siri with an iPhone? I'm an Android user - Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - and if so I can cross NEX off my list and wait for Clarion with their Google enabled NX604/FX504.
VBLUE42
I would say Siri control from the unit but you could probably still use Android voice control from your phone. On another note: that NX604 looks nice and it uses iGo Primo navi so it already blows the Pio away as a navi unit.
drewcwsj
The only downside is the NX604 isn't coming out until June per a few retailers. I really want the NX504 which is the same unit without a CD/DVD transport which I'll never use.
bmwrider
Unless Pioneer is taking yet another step backwards, my Z150 has station labels on the presets. I'd guess that the NEX would have them as well. Anything is possible....my Z130 had voice recognition until I "upgraded" it to the Z140 map update - the VR for the GPS was terrible anyway so I didn't mind losing it, it was stated on the update package so it wasn't a surprise but it was a feature lost.
koush
for me the sound quality of the pioneer is far superior to the clarion, regardless of the features, for me sound quality is more important. Â Koush
VBLUE42
That I will agree with. Pioneer is tops on sound quality.

tekki
I have a z2 that's finally crapping out on me, and was going to get a app 3, but it doesn't have dual zone, so I'm looking at an 8000 for the dual zone support. What kept me away from app radios in the past has been the sluggish response. I love pioneer just didn't want to drop 1400.00 on a head unit. Was even thinking of ipad mini in dash too. But still would have to do something. For my back seat tv's.
tekki
My guy finally got the 8000 at thier shop, install scheduled for Friday
citrus
Has anyone been able to confirm yet what type of bypass is required for the AVIC-8000NEX? The Z150BH needed a pin added to the RCA harness which got ground along with the parking brake wire.
VBLUE42
How's anyone know the bypass if the unit hasn't been released yet? It will come. Give it time.

douger
whats the shop name and location? phone number to shop? Â You're in a hurry for a head unit that may not work properly?
diablo2112
Regarding the bypass: I installed a relay bypass for the parking brake on the 7000NEX I installed. Â Within a few miles, the 7000NEX recognized that the car was moving, gave an error message along the lines of "unit has detected that parking circuit is miswired", and locked out the parking brake functions whenever it saw movement faster than about 5 mph. Â From this point on, every time the unit turned on, it gave this warning message (and required you to press "ok" to acknowledge it) and still locked out the parking brake. Â Â In sum, I couldn't find a way to bypass the parking brake interlock. Â The unit uses GPS info to cross reference against the parking circuit. Â Also, my shop said my 7000NEX had be recalled by Pioneer. Â I un-installed the unit, and returned it earlier today. Â I have no idea if the 8000NEX will have the same (and many) problems that I found with the 7000NEX.
VBLUE42
AVICs have always been a two wire bypass. A relay won't cut it.
