sheriffd2
I installed the AVIC-D1 in my C5 Corvette Z06, and as you know, it takes a LOT of customizing to get the double-din unit in a C5. I really like some of the new feature of the D3, does anyone know if it will fit directly into the same chassis and maybe even use the same wiring? I used the trim Bezel of the D1 molded into the modified center console so make a perfect fit, and welded and bolted the basket/chassis into place. I don't know if the new D3 uses a close enough trim ring (plastic snap-on bezel) and chassis/basket design to easily accomodate the switch.
apercele79
i heard they fit exactly like the D1/D2's so in other words you'll be fine
NOIRtist
That looks great. I'll be putting the d3 in my trans am... so I feel your pain. lol Who the hell uses a 1.5 DIN?? Damn GM.
aznsmartass24
quick question... Where did you get that custom dash bezel, and where do you relocate the 12 volt cigarette lighter? To answer your question, yes it is an exact same fit, which is double din. Anything qualifying as double din should fit in your custom dash.

cntrylvr79
wow that looks awesome.. looks pretty close to your clutch.. do you use the tilt function? Umm isn't the clutch in between the transmission and the engine? Why would you mount a navi screen there? Kinda makes it hard to use....
