leo18_rod
Hello everyone, I bought the NEX 4000 for my Chevy Cruze this past friday and I'm loving the unit. But I've been having trouble with the audio. At high levels it sounds very distorted and not clear. I have the standard 6-speaker set up that comes stock with my car. What can be the problem? Maybe a bad connection? Please help.
nolarola
Turn it down, Leo. LOL. Honestly, I don't think you've given enough information to answer you, but your main issue is likely the OEM speakers.
B1978J
I agree with notarola, we need more information. Though I would not expect most factory speakers to handle the watts pushed by your 4000.
leo18_rod
Sorry guys I'm not good with the audio terminology. Basically when I turn it up at a 75% speaker volume the sound starts to be distorted. Like if it can't handle the amount of output. Especially the rear speakers were sounding extremely distorted. I went ahead and bought 4 Kicker 41DSC654 speakers for the front and rear doors and Apline SPR-10TW tweeters. This should fix my problem. Let me know what you guys think about these speakers! Thanks. Mr. Furious
I'd suggest turning down the output level for each source. It's probably too high at full blast for your speakers. I had to do that with my system.
mab6680
if you have a factory amp i would put money on that being the problem. factory amps almost always sound like doo doo hooked up to an aftermarket radio
stevenj24k
factory amp and factory speakers will bring out the worst in a good head unit. if you really want high quality audio at high volumes, you must invest in an aftermarket amplifier, speakers, and sub. otherwise, lower the volume and enjoy
Backenst
Set athe HIgh Pass Filters to around 100 and you will be fine. YOu are sending too much power to the factory speakers.
