VoBoy
pioneer designed it for the convenience of the driver not to reach across as far. I think it's not a bad idea, but i do see what your saying. But all in all its driver orientated, buttons closer to the drive making buttons easier to read too. GnatGoSplat
Knobs and buttons are almost always placed on the driver side. Just look at the HU's for Japan's domestic market. If they are asymmetrical, the knob and controls are usually on the right side since they are right-hand drive. I pretended my D1 was a D3 and I don't think your hand would block the screen hardly at all unless you have really fat blubbery fingers. In fact, the screen is blocked much more when reaching for the right side. Try it and see.
whtcrxghst
I can see the volume # when I am turning it up and down. Not sure what else you would need to see on the screen for that split second it takes you to reach over
PA 6.0
Sit in the drivers seat of an F-350 and you'll be glad the knobs on the left hand side. The dash is just a wee bit wider than the ones most of you are dealing with!
cntrylvr79
Yeah by about 3 feet or so
Risko
Sit in the drivers seat of an F-350 and you'll be glad the knobs on the left hand side. The dash is just a wee bit wider than the ones most of you are dealing with! Same goes for my Tahoe...the driver side buttons were a selling point for me!
