Jake_tc
Ok.... I have been trying forever, but whenever I go into the background picture menu, the "import to disc" button isn't active. I have made my cd's more than 100mb with no mp3's or other audio data...have made a folder named "Pictures" and closed the disc for only one session. Can someone PLEASE tell me exact instructions...I've already wasted like 7 cd's trying to figure it all out. Thanks in advance!
ducatiboy
Well, the exact instructions are on page 96 of the manual, and when I followed those it worked. So there is something you aren't doing correctly. It's been talked about before, but since the exact instructions are in the manual no one has written up anything else. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... background http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... background http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... background http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... background Maybe something in there will spark a thought about what you did that was wrong. Try changing the cd burning settings to mode 1, iso9660, 8.3 file names, simple label, everything very basic to make sure you have a compatible cd when you are done. And don't burn it with windows. 05Stang-GT
If you are using Roxio, you have to set it to ISO mode not the one it defaults to
Jake_tc
Ok thanks for the replies. I have no choice but to burn with Windows. I'm using Roxio...so you say set it to ISO mode? I also have access to Nero...I should be using Nero instead apparently? What's the limit on the length of the file names? Thanks!
action
I always use Nero and have had no problems. I think I've read around here that people consistantly have problems when they use windows.
Jake_tc
Okiedokie. I will be sure to use Nero. I'll post back when I get home and try it out. Thanks again.

It's not the problem using windows as the operating system but you can't use windows as the burning program. The only way it burns CDs is in a format that is not compatible. You can use Roxio or Nero, but you have to change the settings for the format when you burn the disk. Just because disks are not free and they take a while to burn and go out and test... I have not tested every possible combination of parameters when it comes to this but when you are going to burn a disk, things that will make it as compatible as possible is what you should choose... No Multisession, finalized, Data Mode 1 ISO 9660 File names just 8.3 (and no weird characters or spaces, just numbers and letters) Simple disk label, nothing fancy I don't know which ones of these you can "cheat" on, but if you do this and it's burned on good cd rom, it will be as compatible as possible. None of mine ever failed.
Jake_tc
I used Nero and it worked like a charm. Thanks!

That's what I meant. Guess I gotta be more clear. I knew what you meant, but that was more for this guy who said: I have no choice but to burn with Windows. I thought he might have been thinking I told him to use a mac or something. I wasn't real clear either when I posted to not use windows before that.
action
Hahahah! Yeah, can you imagine Pioneer making you burn your discs with Linux only!?
Jake_tc
Haha yeah I took it to meant that you had to use another OS besides Windows. Yeahhh, I took it a completely different way. Lol. Thanks for all the clarification and help though. I'm enjoying my new backgrounds.
