05Stang-GT
Anybody make a combo antenna for XM and GPS (would have to have to leads obviously) that will work with the Z1 and the GEX-P10XMT? Would make for a much cleaner install only having one antenna....
cntrylvr79
Not really.

George01v6
There is already another thread on this. Won't work, can't work, design isn't right for the type of antenna used.
05Stang-GT
Um I dont think you understand what Im talking about...it most deffinatly could work, would just be two separate antennas in one housing with two leads....
action
Hmmm.... go to radio shack, buy a project box, cut a couple of holes in it, put the antennas into it and glue it to your roof?
George01v6
Guess I misunderstood. You could mount two different antennas in one single housing, probably could work. I don't know if you would get any weird interaction when them being so close to each other. I was thinking you were meaning one antenna element, which wouldn't work since patch antennas are designed to work on a single frequency. I'm guessing most luxury cars that have navigation and sat ready have that little fin at the back of their roof that contains both antennas.
05Stang-GT
Shouldn't really be any interaction as both are just recieve only, although I know most GPS antennas are "active" in that they are fed +5V, not sure about XM though...

Th gps antenna works just as well when hidden in the dash. Ty
free_refil
I have both my XM antenna and my GPS antenna mounted side by side with no gaps between the two and there is no interferance or anything like that...
