XM and Sirius on D3

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, this is my first post.

I just thought I would mention that this would only work for me with the Pioneer XM module. I have a SIR-PNR1 and a Terk XM module. I tried to hook them both up to my D3(which I installed on Tuesday this week) using the Terk control module for Pioneer. They both seemed to work when the unit was turned on but the Sirius tuner would only play for about 3-4 minutes then switch over to XM. I took the Terk Pioneer module back and replaced it with the Pioneer XM module with the NavTraffic and it has worked perfectly ever since.

I also would like to mention that the Sirius module sound quality far exceeds the Pioneer XM module sound quality. I was a bit surprised by just how noticable it is. I'm getting a PNR2 from my brother soon. Does the PNR2 show all 3 lines of text at once like the XM tuner?

First, the Terk pieces are junk, avoid them whenever possible. Second, the PNR2 does not give you more text like the XM tuner, it only adds the sportsticker thingy and favorite song memory. If you hit the display button on the touchscreen, you can access the song name and artist

That's what I figured! Thanks. BTW, my brother works for Sirius. He is sending me a free PNR2. He was telling me that the PNR2 is a 4th gen product and that it changes channels quicker and has a few other behind the scenes tweaks. I'm still very amazed at the difference in sound between the XM and Sirius tuners.
