gspyder
I'm planning to install a AVIC-Z2 in my 1995 Spyder VR-4. Looks like I have to replace all 6 speakers. Can some 3000GT owners tell me what you replaced them with, did you do it yourself, how did it work out? Thanks.
cntrylvr79
And what makes you think you have to replace all of the speakers to put an avic in?
coocho
Great car!!!! You will not have to install new speakers. I found the premium infinity speakers you get with the car works great. Maybe if you had a toyota camry or some other equivalent, the speakers would have to be switched because they simply suck. I
gspyder
I have the OEM speakers 4 ohm & 15w along with the Mit factory amp under the pass seat and the AVIC-Z2 says less than 50w speakers are no good. If I keep the OEM speakers do I also wire in the Mit amp into the Z2?
coocho
I took out the factory amp underneath the passanger seat and just used the internal amp of the Z unit.
SigForLife
Just a heads up, on the spyder...well actually all manual 3000gt's, you really can only tap the reverse wire at the taillights. I know, I installed a AVIC N3 in a 1995 vr-4 spyder. Fun Fun....

cntrylvr79
70-7003 allows you to keep the factory amp and speakers.

douyon
Replaced all factory speakers with Focals. Did not re-connect factory tweeters in windows on-top of dash, instead installed separate focal tweeters into the doors. Using separate West Coast Custom Orion Amps for sub's, mid's and tweeters. Audio Control DQXS keeps it all balanced. 2 Orion 10' subs in custom cabinet. Avic Z1 with custome IPOD adapter built into what was the cigarette ash holder. Bluetooth, and Sirrus add on's attached, and rear back-up camera replaces key hole in rear. Fun car. 95.
DennisOS2
When I put my Z1 in my 97 VR4 I put all new Focals, pioneer amp and Dynamatted/Dynaliner'ed every square inch of the interior. Big difference. Can you spell t o m b ? Then switched from the Borla to a Tanabe SM Hyper cat-back. Very nice ........ and even more quite. Dennis

Dennis I thought that stuff only reduced noise from going outside?
cntrylvr79
Na it kills noise both ways. Inside to out and out to in.
