tresx
Anyone with experience with both? I have both here and can't get over the little "box" that comes with the Pioneer unit. I'm sure it helps with picture quality *somehow*. Plus the pioneer is clearly rated at 100,000lux max. Meaning it won't wash out in bright sun. How is the VTL300 in the bright sun? Thanks in advance! George01v6
The pioneer one is great. It uses the little box as a power supply, nothing more. It works good in bright light, although if the sun is in the picture you will get a vertical line going through it. It does have a slight fishbowl effect, but that's how it gets the big wide angle. I'm happy with it, heck it was free with my D3.
hvs69
I bought VTL300 and sold my pioneer cam on E-bay. I have no comparison between the two but what sold me on VTL300 was the licensce plate mounting & low light visiibility. I must say that I am REALLY impressed with VTL300 low light image quality. Even in the middle of the night with street lights, I can clearly see everything. On paper, the specs of vtl300 are better than pioneer cam.
