  1. Worked like a charm. Much thanks.
  2. Absolutely correect on the Disc. Put one in and it works great. I'm now gettin incompatible USB. Bought it from Apple. Is there more than one type of lightening cable?
  3. Following your instructions I was able to open the the screen and complete the firmware update. On the Home screen both the 'Disc' and USB1 remain greyed out. I removed the head unit and do have an Apple Lightening cable inserted in the USB1 slot running to an Apple Digital Adaptor along with an HDMI cable.
  4. Had my 8000NEX installed this afternoon and cannot access the Disc button to open the screen. I've downloaded the 1.08 firmware update but cannot open the screen to insert the SD card. Anyone have any idea what the installers did wrong?
  5. "Do you want to use OEM phone buttons to access phone functions on the Z1? Cause I'm pretty sure that's not possible." Yes, that is what my intentions were. Sounds like I'm sol. Thanks
  6. I just installed the OEM phone buttons and voice command button on the steering wheel of my 06 4Runner. I am using the PAC SWI-PS to interface the Z1 with the audio buttons on the steering wheel. Does anyone have an idea on what to use to interface the Z1 with the phone buttons to make them work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. For me, it is one of those items that sounds great in theory, not not worth 2 cents in the real world, IMO. I had one for two days before I took it off and sold it on E-Bay. I have a 4Runner and with the way it mounts on the steering wheel I knocked it off the wheel every time I turned a corner. The vol buttons are on the back and I would pop it out of the wheel and it would go flying every time I adjusted vol. Just wasn't practical for me.
  8. IMO it is impractical. I used it for 2 or 3 days and then sold it on E-Bay. I was constantly hitting it and knocking it loose. Seems like every time I went around a corner I would knock it out of the holder and it would go flying. I do have steering wheel controls so it was rather redundant. I liked the idea of the phone controls but in real life it just wasn't practical. All that said, it does look like something that should come with a $5 toy- not a $2000 piece of precision equipment.
  9. I'm using that camera. The picture is excellent, day and night. One thing to consider is you will have to drill thru the back door. The irony is the threads on the bolts are the same as on the standard license plate. If you look close at the plate frame you will see the hex head is recessed. That means there is no way to screw the bolt all the way into the frame. This was done as a security feature, so you will have to drill out the threads. Then I did something I may regret someday. I drilled the two holes on the bottom of the frame thru the door. My cameras not going to be stolen, but I will
  10. I had this one installed yesterday. Absolutely love it. I have an 06 4Runner and the door handle protects it from rain. Got it on E-Bay for $145 delivered. It also comes in plastic. http://www.tundraelectronics.com/cart/p ... amera.html
  11. "Does it make a difference if they are mounted sticky side up or installed "correctly" with the adhesive side facing down? Anyone know?!?" I can tell you I mounted my gps antenna under the dash as close to the windshield as possible. I stuck the base piece of metal on top of an a/c vent inside the dash and put the antenna on top. I have excellent gps reception. This is where Toyota places the factory nav antenna. The XM antenna I placed on top of the dash in the very corner on the passenger side where the windshield & pillar come together. Very unobtrusive and good reception. Hope this
  12. Try this site:http://www.installdr.com/ The Install Doctor - The Do-It-Yourself Car Stereo Installation Resource They have step by step instructions.
  13. I was quoted $150 for the Z1 install by Circuit City last week. They want another $50 to install all of the add-ons at the same time. If you are near one you might give them a call.
  14. Could I get some help with the VSS & reverse wires for 2006 Toyota 4runner w/o JBL. Thanks
