A4rium
Has anyone tried or heard about the USB adapter (CD-UB100) or IPOD cable (CD-I200). Check out the website http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 31,00.html http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 21,00.html USB Adapter, you can control MP3 player via AVIC-Z1 touch screen... thinking of hooking up a mini-pc or an ext. hhd. The IPOD cable that connects directly to IP BUS, not sure if you need to plug-in the RCA Audio/Video cables to auxilary, can the cable power up the IPOD? can it work with video? PaisanNYC
I dont think you will have any sort of user interface at all with the USB connector (i.e. no song names) since the Z1 is not IB-compatible. Look at the list of compatible head units on the page you linked in your post.
cntrylvr79
Yes it comes up as an external source. It has been tried by another user whom didn't read the manual and got pissy because it didn't work the way he expected it.
MisFit
the usb unit sucks, and that ipod cable is not for the z1, and it doesnt plug into the ip bus. it has its own connector and is only for the d3 and new radio line
action
It has been tried by another user whom didn't read the manual and got pissy because it didn't work the way he expected it. Can I get "pissy" 'cuz I didn't fully read the description on my Sirius adapter and expected it to have, at least, the same features my cheaper Sportster?
PaisanNYC
Nah, just get pissy because you bought the inferior technology from a sub-par satellite service

marin8703
Has anyone tried or heard about the USB adapter (CD-UB100) or IPOD cable (CD-I200). Check out the website http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 31,00.html http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... 21,00.html USB Adapter, you can control MP3 player via AVIC-Z1 touch screen... thinking of hooking up a mini-pc or an ext. hhd. The IPOD cable that connects directly to IP BUS, not sure if you need to plug-in the RCA Audio/Video cables to auxilary, can the cable power up the IPOD? can it work with video? from reading the manual it looks like the z1 falls under group 4 head units, which will have touch screen operation of teh usb unit. this is directly from teh manual: Folder number—track number—play time— folder name—file name—album title—track title—artist name # If the characters recorded on the audio file are not compatible with a head unit, those characters will not be displayed. Notes ! When using this unit as an external unit, head units can display the first 8 letters of the folder name, the file name, the album title, the song title, the artist name. ! If the characters recorded on the audio file are not compatible with a head unit, those characters will not be displayed. ! If specific information has not been recorded on an audio file, title or name is not displayed. ! The text information of some audio files may not be correctly displayed. ! You can scroll to the left the folder name, the file name, the album title, the song title, the artist name. read the manual maybe i misunderstood something, but im probably gona get this and try it out.
