ctburns
I am currently getting a D3 installed on my BMW and have come to a problem relocating the climate control unit. If anyone here has performed a double din install on an e46, please respond and I will get more specific. thanks in advance!

ctburns
WOW! Thanks for the support! My guys are far from newbies. I was actually just missing a part number from BMW for the retrofit kit which exists. My car is fully installed in regards to the AVIC-D3 with XM, bluetooth, and I-pod adapter. Saw it today and it looks wonderful. Monday the part comes from BMW which I finally located and then my car is done. My shop said the whole thing was a snap to do and I would have had it after a day if I didn't initially order the wrong retrofit kit. But at least I got a reply from you! whtcrxghst
It is definitely not a snap, I think that is what he was implying. Its usually not a good idea to let DIY'ers cut their AC/Heating ducts
ctburns
No, I understand what he was saying. There is no way I was undertaking this project on my own. I am and always will be a newbie on quality installations in whatever car I drive in the future. I left it to guys who do it for a living. In another forum there is step-by-step directions with pictures on how to modify the ac ducts and so on and so forth. Still wouldn't help me. I should have been more specific on my first post as to what help I was looking for. I just had gotten done with an extensive and detailed post on a BMW forum and was running out of time to do it here. And then I come home to hopefully find some type of a helping hand either here or on the other forum, and i got nothing on the BMW forum and just one reply here....let's call what I did a "snap" reply.
