inivad
First off I want to thank you guys for all the helpful info. I will be installing the D3 this weekend and that's because of the great info on this forum. I know I don't have any post but I really haven't needed to post because I've been able to find most of my answers through searching or PMing members. I PMed a member about the reverse wire and they said they didn't bother hooking it up. So, if I'm not installing a camera do I really need to hook up the reverse wire? If I do, does anyone know where it is on a 2007 Frontier Crew Cab LE? Thanks for the past, present and future help! Bailey

lseguy1
Not needed unless you are using a backup camera.
Ashhong
Just to be clear, is it better to have it but just not necessary? I thought I read that it helped with some navigation. So basically it does NOTHING but trigger the reverse backup camera?

lseguy1
I've backed up in a parking lot with it disconnected, and the gyros/GPS track the car just fine. Not sure why they state inthe manual that it needs to be connected for tracking.

Of course its still going to track you, it thinks you are going forward.
Swangin'Lac
I hooked it up..... No backup camera in my car, but when I back up the arrow moves backwards. Im assuming if you dont hook it up the GPS gets a little confused?
