avh-p7800 Park Brake Question

Recommended Posts

I've been looking into these bypass modules and now have questions...what all is involved in adding these and and I better off going this route rather than rigging up a switch? If I wanted to rig a switch, how would I go about this? I'm new to this unit and its operation. Help me out guys!

Don't use a switch, it's pointless, just ground the green wire to the black one and done. Switches are for those pussies who actually think that a cop will pull them over and check if the unit is bypassed or not...LOL!!!! cops don't give a shit if you got video while driving. They don't even know pioneer makes navigation units. Just don't listen to these pussies that are afraid of a bypass.

Hey noob--The 7800DVD needs to see the parking brake on at startup, then off, then back on to watch video so your way is complete crap. To not have a switch would require a TR7 or one of the other PAC bypass products. Nice guess though, try that on the Eclipse or Kenwood boards

  • 3 weeks later...

Can also use a dei pulse timer p/n 528t to automatically do the bypass. That works all the time.

Red goes to Constant 12v.

Black goes to ground

the blue loop of wire cut and isolate the ends.

Black/white goes to the accessory wire

Yellow goes to ground

orange goes to the parking brake wire of the screen.

Set the dial to about 10 second delay.
