official_style
whatup? just joined, i just bought an avic z1 for my 2005 mustang gt. i didnt want to deal with the z2 problems with dvd in motion etc. is this going work with my factory shaker 1000? crutchfield says the z2 works with it, and they have the harness, which i am going to buy, and the z1 is the same hardware wise as the z2 correct? MisFit
yes, just mke sure you put a 3k ohm resistor between the blue/white wires
official_style
a resistor? what do i need it for? i was going to do the mod so the dvd works in motion. whats does the blue white wire control?
MisFit
its the amp turn on for your factory system. without the resistor you will get a loud thump when you turn your unit on
official_style
yes i have heard of this. i got the harness and install kit from crutchfield, think i will still need the resistor?

official_style
http://cgi.ebay.com/Resistor-Carbon-Fil ... otohosting would this work?
MisFit
as long as its 3k ohm it will work. if you are having installed anywhere, they will have them
ducatiboy
Oh man don't buy it on ebay for 15 cents with 6 dollars shipping, radio shack will have resistors for much cheaper.
official_style
http://www.radioshack.com/search/index. ... istor&sr=1 will these work? 3.3k ohm
BigFloppy
You could always buy one of DucatiBoy's amp turn on devices
official_style
the one i bought is a refurb from pioneer, so i am thinking i will need to do the 2 wire bypass, when they refurb them they update the software correct?
BigFloppy
Try the 2 wire bypass first, if that doesn't work, all you've lost is maybe 15 minutes of your time Enjoy the Z1 AND the Stang!
