JasonH
Has anyone tried hooking up a iPod Video to a AVIC? Curious to see what the quality looks like. Thanks, Jason
skirodeo7
not yet, but tomorrow I'm putting in an AVIC-N3 and the ipod adapter and I'll check it out on a nano and video and post it up here within a few days. i didn't think they showed video from ipods, but that would be sweet
JasonH
They don't display video through the ipod adaptor. You need the iPod Video Cable to connect to the Aux in.
Guest mikeyz
ive had my video ipod hooked up to my d1 since they came out, the picture isnt the best but is bearable, does not beat a dvd in anyway hooked to the unit, you have blur in the picture. for a 6.5" screen there isnt much to expect. Im happy with it, oh the volume you have to turn really high also. I have used the apple video cable and also the one that hooks to the bottom of the ipod, no difference becides the apple one the volume is controlled though the ipod, the bottome one is a set colume for a true RCA audio output. -Mike
Guest
Best buy has a adaptor to watch your ipod video on the tv.I'm thinking about customizing it into my car then I can use it remote to control my ipod video or music right on the screen. Guest
It's not necessary to get an Ipod AV cable. You can actually use a regular cable with the 3.5mm mini head phone style jack. Just use the right channel as the video, left channel as right and the video channel as the left.
OrangeElement
For general reference: If you have the D3, you can purchase a connector cable for under $30 that will charge and sync your ipod video to the unit. The video even plays through this very inexpensive and typical iPod cable. Mine comes out in the glove box. For anyone considering the D3 for professional installation, who already has or is considering an iPod video, go ahead and get the cable installed with the unit. they generally won't charge for installing it at that point.
