Geerboy
Does anybody know what color wire I have to connect to get the darn thing to go into nighttime mode? That thing is blinding at night......I have it hooked to the orange/white wire coming from the stock harness into the avic's orange/white wire.......I thought this was correct somebody correct me if i'm wrong. I've heard that you have to use the orange wire from the stock harness as well.....anybody? Or am I just dumb and don't have a setting set correctly? And yes I have played with the daytime/nighttime setting. Thanks!!!
hottwhyrd
i think for the right polarity on that truck u gotta go to the bcm. if you pull the under dash off you can see like 5 plugs facing the drivers seat. the wire you want is on the far right plug that only has like 5 wires in it grey/black= illumination
installthis06
I just put a switch in on my car from the orange/white to the acc wire. That way when I can turn it to night mode whenever I want to. The black background on the n2 is pretty cool looking.

installermarc
The best way to get the dimmer to work is to connect the orange/white on the back of the nav to the brown wire at the parking light, under the hood. yes, you will have to run a wire from the dash to the light, but there are at least two good factory grommets to run the wire through. The reason for this is the factory radio gets it's lighting and dimmer information from the class 2 serial data bus. It also gets its turn on signal, chime info, and stering wheel controls. Give this a shot, and i know you'll be happy.
shotgun_customs
You can find it at the BCM as described in a post above. Or It can also be found in the convenience center(upper lt side of drivers floorboard). Be sure to test your connection to make sure it works w/ the auto headlights.
