alvarezlouie
Anyone with a GM, in my case 07 Hummer H3, be aware that the GM AM/FM antenna is much smaller than the antenna plug on the AVIC-Z1 (probably all AVIC's). You'll have to get an adapter to utilize the antenna. I went to a nearby Radio Shack but they don't carry anything automotive parts anymore so headed to Circuit City and picked one up for the overpriced amount of $18. Just a heads up so you'll have everything needed to complete the install in one session.
steve310
18?? Geez...at BB we used to charge 9.99 for the GM to regular 'motorola plug' adapters, but hat was a few years ago... Thats still steep tho.
hottwhyrd
5 bucks walmart. when i wurked for ghetto shops the guys showed me how"crimping" the antenna (flattening it with pliers) can make the antenna fit. ghetto
alvarezlouie
Damn, should have checked WalMart, posted on the AVIC board first and of course I am not opposed to the ghetto version of the antenna connector. Lesson learned, to all, before buying anything, trying anything post on the board first!
