dahora Posted May 20, 2015 Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 I copied the folder in the SD card as per instructions. the 8100NEX starts reading it but then exits back to the off screen. anyone experienced this? gambit784 Posted May 20, 2015 Report Share Posted May 20, 2015 I would suggest trying another SD Card or maybe trying to upgrade the firmware via USB1. I have the 8100 and I upgraded the firmware using an SD Card and I had no issues. My SD Card was 4GB and formatted to FAT32. I also have the bypass enabled and parking brake grounded. Zeeman28a Posted May 22, 2015 Report Share Posted May 22, 2015 I just bought the 8100NEX and the first thing I did was upgrade the firmware from v1.01 to v1.03. (15MY_FW-Update_v1.03_16G_20150318.zip) I used a SanDisk Ultra 64GB microSD card with the SD Adapter, formatted as FAT32. I made the mistake the first time of extracting all the files/folders and put them into the root of the sd card. Can't do that. The files/folders have to reside in the AVIC5100NEX folder on the SD card. But it took about 5 minutes to upgrade, and was successful. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
