BAFU
732pm CST and it's dribbling through at about a MB every 10 secs or so. 435mb file it says. I have a 5000. I'll update over the weekend and post my results.
mdpauley
Tried to update tonight but the head unit kept complaining that the update file wasn't found. I put the AVIC5000NEX folder in the root of the USB drive and it was a no go. Has anyone had success with a 6000?
hayes40oz
Did anyone notice any Bluetooth firmware update? I have the 4000NEX before and after the install the bluetooth firmware was the same HW01-SW03.21.30...... the system firmware did update from 1.09 to 1.
jhren
... It's a 307MB file... I am downloading the 8100 series FW @ 320MB... Odd. My 1.11 firmware download was a 451MB zip file [8000NEX]. Took less than five minutes (I didn't actually time it).
msooffutt
If you read the instructions, which I highly recommend, you must use a USB stick. You should be able to update directly to 1.11. Instructions only have you verify current version is not 1.11. [insert my disclaimer here ] Just in case anyone is wondering, you can also use a sd card even though the instructions say otherwise. I did this without a problem. Read the installation instructions. It's a 2-part update.

Drives with large capacity (over 32gb I think) don't support this format.
consequential
Has anyone noticed you can't actually download anything from Pioneer's site today? For any of the models if you click the link to download firmware literally nothing happens. It's as if they removed any links to the firmware downloads yet you can download the pdf's explaining how to apply the firmware... I have the 8100NEX..

mdpauley
I had a similar problem and had to go with the sd card instead. You using apple carplay? I made a rookie mistake; the thumb drive had 2 partitions. I reformatted and it installed fine.

I hadn't thought of that. That may have been my problem as well, I'll have to check that out.
