nester
I recently acquired a AVIC-88DVD from a friend, and after using it for a while with some old discs, I decided I wanted to upgrade. Partly because I wanted to see the new maps, and partly because I didn't have the WEST disc, and planned to travel to texas.. I got the images for CNDV 70MTP and burned them.. They load ok, but once the unit boots up, most of the time there is no map to be seen.. other times, the map works, but I can't search for a destination, unless it's already in the address book.. I thought maybe it was a bad burn, so I burnt it again, to no avail. I am thinking maybe bad image, but who knows.. I didn't really know that I couldn't step back to the original image until I started researching the problem.. can anyone give me suggestions?

nester
Try real disks. Maybe that will work Would love to, but not sure I want to pay $250 or whatever they cost to find out that doesn't help. I am trying to reflash to the old version I have.. but I can't get past the password entry on the service menu.
whtcrxghst
What I meant was borrow one and see if it works. I would go to a store with the N4 on display and ask to borrow its disk for five minutes. If it works, you know you have a bad burn. If it doesn't, you know you need repair
