bigman411
I see some kits on ebay, are these reliable? Is this the samething that is posted on this forum how to do it. I dont want to be screwed and it will mess up something. They are cheaper than buying the upgrade disk. Will I run into any problems, buying this HD already with Z2? Is there any freezing issues or anything?
whtcrxghst
Freezing issues appear to be fixed. If you are computer savy, all the information you need can be found here
barfer
it depends on the HD so not to sure what the seller on ebay will use. why don't you do it yourself or have someone here do it for you. you will end up paying the same. I have no issues and like the new features so far.
bigman411
Its a toshiba HD 5400rpm, what does pioneer use from the factory? I heard its pointless past 40 gig because you cant store more than 400 album titles or something. I will never go more than that anyways probably. I really wanna do it myself, i saw the write up. This person says he did it a better way by buying the pioneer upgrade dvd and then directly copying his HD to the new one, instead of making the image thing.
barfer
there is no better way. All does the same so if you want do it yourself. pioneer use toshiba as well.
bigman411
do i have to buy any bypass unlock thing?
barfer
if you get the new HD then no you do not need to pay to unlock the drive. just make sure that you turn off the security on/off on the HD before loading it into the Z1 or it will be locked. all you need is the files which is free and a HD
