installermarc
Sent the unit in to Pioneer for service. Sounds like the faceplate drive motor has gone out.
j76ms
Mine does this from time to time and I remove it and tap on the bottom near the front and it starts working again. It usually does it every other month or so but it only takes two minutes to pull it out and tap on it.

whtcrxghst
Send it to pioneer for repair
aghashireh
I know you have probebly fixed the problem by now but this is for the people who are searching the forums looking for answers. My D1 started doing the same thing today. I could hear the beep when I pressed the Open button but nothing would happen, but later on tonight when I went back, it was working like nothing had happened. My strong guess is HEAT. It was around 65ish this morning and by noon it was 68. If this happens to you, enjoy the CD that you have in there and just wait for your unit to cool down. Hope this helps.
