TxJole
I had my D3 installed (by a 411 members shop) couple weeks ago in my 07 Silverado w/bose. It worked fine till I went to hook up my back-up camera last night. Now I have half the volume, but the camera works fine. I looked and looked to see if anything got disconnected but cant see anything. I'm sure it has something to do with the GM04 interface but what???
TxJole
OK I started the truck this morning and everything is fine. Back to normal. What the hell happened???
installermarc
Sounds like the bose amp or the interface needed a reset. If it ever does it again, I would say you have a bad interface.
TxJole
Thanks do these interfaces go out often???
installermarc
Not really. Just remember you are trying to have an outside party connect and communicate with a GM computer. Sometimes the translation goes a little funny. Like I said, though, I would only look at the interface if it happens again.
JLeach12
what brand interface you got?
TxJole
Metra. I just went out to the truck. Fired it up, and the stereo crackled allitle then shut down??? I killed the truck fired it up and it worked fine???? I think I shook something loose in the interface. Its DAMN crowded behind that stereo!!!

installermarc
Sounds like a bad interface. Sorry.
TxJole
DAMN IT you mean i'm going to have this wired again!!
installermarc
You shouldn't have to rewire anything. If I remember correctly, the metra interface has disconnects on it, so unplug the bad box and plug in the replacement.
superjet
There was a recall on the GMOS-04, the top of the case would press on the citcuit board and hit a resistor. There is a date code by the UPC, 06/07 and after are the newer versions. Just give Metra a call, I'm sure they would be more than happy to send you a replacement. TxJole
in my stereo adventures, today you crank it to 40 just to hear it, and no chime.
TxJole
Called Metra and that was not the recalled unit. I have to take it to the installer to get a replacment unit.
TxJole
Get this, the retailer I got the interface from is going to switch it out for frieght charges, which is fair. Then they want me to pay to ship it from his warehouse to Metra. No way that will happen!!
