I recently installed my D3 and have had this problem occur twice. It seems that when listening to XM the audio will break up kind of like when the signal is fading in and out then no audio at all. The display is fine. It shows the change, logo, song and artist just no audio. During this time I can change to FM or CD and they have audio.

What I did both times was to stop and turn the car off then back on and everything was fine. What I didn't do was to turn off the radio then power it back on without turning off the car. Will do that the next time. Any ideas on why this is happening? Thanks.

Something isn't right with XM and the D3. It just happened again. I just drove up to the front door of a hotel to drop someone off and there was a roof covering the entrance I lost the XM signal which didn't surprise me but then when I drive away the signal came back and the display showed the channel, song title and artist but no audio at all. I then turned off the D3 and turned it back on but still no audio. The only way to get it back is to turn off the car. There is definately something wrong here. I don't know if it's the D3 or the 920 XM tuner. I have no problem with the audio from AM, FM or CD. What do you think is going wrong?

I have actually had the same problem this weekend with the P10XM that has NavTraffic. Sometimes it shows no signal and I was assuming it was due to the positioning of my car. I took a roadtrip and after about 2.5 hours of driving I switched from iPod to XM and it showed all icons, song title, artist, etc but NO audio. When I got to my destination I shut off the car and then cranked it back up and it worked again. I have NO idea... :x

Yes, that is exactly what happens to me. I have to turn off the car to get the 920XM tuner to reset. I called Pioneer tech support and they said that they never heard of that problem and suggested that I return the unit to the retailer since it was less than 30 days old. I have another one coming. If this does it too then Pioneer has a problem with their XM tuners.

Well I replaced the 920XM tuner as Pioneer suggested with a new unit and today it started again. When I lose the signal because I am not in the clear and then come back in the clear the D3 shows a good signal with channel number and everything but there is no audio. This time I pulled over and left the car running. I turn off the radio for a minute or two then back on and still no XM audio. Of course when I turn the ignition off then on everything was fine.

It definiately has something to do with switched 12 volts and the only thing that is getting that is the D3. The 920 only receives constant 12 volt for the presets.

I did not replace the cables or antenna yet but I didn't thing that was necessary since I get a good signal most of the time except when I go under an overpass, bridge or large trees.

It can't be the 920XM. Two of them have done this now. The only thing left is the D3 (unless the tuner cables are bad). Any suggestions?

i have the EXACT same problem, except the loss of audio on my xm unit seems "permanent", i installed it yesterday and have not yet been able to listen the xm radio. everything else seems to work fine, song data, channel lineup have all loaded fine. i can see the info for what i'm supposed to be hearing, but so far no audio at all. Can someone please HELP with this?

Does anyone else have this problem or no how to fix it? I'm a little curious if the bypass and the moving of the mute wire in the harness might be causing this so i changed it back to the original position to test it but it did not seem to make any difference.

You installed it wrong. Take the P-bus cable out of the hole it is currently in on the XM tuner and put it in the other one
