music on the Z2

i will getting my Z2 installed on Saturday. My question is, how do u download the music to the hard drive. i dont have the unit yet, it will here tomorrow. i jus wondering. thank you much

Put a CD in it and shazaam!, it magically starts recording it to the HD at 4x speed

the reason why i asked is, i do not own a cd. everything is on my laptop. i was hoping i could just transfer my music without burning cds

unfortuntely you cannot, sorry :[ There is a way if you're very mechanically confident, you will need to "unlock the HDD". Do a search on that.

I thought i read you could not do this for the z2, i searched and only found threads saying they were trying to get it working. Maybe you have a link?

if they are all on your laptop then the only way to do it is to burn the music on CDs. They CANNOT be in the MP3 format. They have to be in the normal music format. I think it is .cda.

 

You cannot transfer MP3s from your computer to the Z1/Z2. They are in a different format and this will not work.

thanks for all your help. i am going to buy an Ipod and the Ipod adaptor and load all the music on an Ipod. that will be the easiest way.
