wpageabc
Anyone suggest the current leader for dvd car player price/performance 12-07?
wpageabc
Could anyone report on what they are using for DVD play on a D2
HiFiSi
I'm guessing just about any DVD changer with an IP-BUS output would work fine, and be controlled by the D2, or maybe just a standalone DVD player hooked into the AV inputs. There are a LOT of options out there for you to choose from.
whtcrxghst
XDVP6/9/90 are the pioneer ones if you want control from the deck. Any brand will work if its standalone

riggz
Sorry to thread jack, but I am considering the XDV-P6 and I was curious to know if it's worth the $500 price tag. Also the installation manual states that if the unit is installed over 30 degrees from horizontal the unit might not operate at its optimal level. I would like to mount it vertically in my center console, but if it's going to perform poorly then I'll look for another option.
whtcrxghst
Its supposed to be flat, or close to it Sorry to thread jack, but I am considering the XDV-P6 and I was curious to know if it's worth the $500 price tag. HiFiSi
You could mount it under the seat.
riggz
You could mount it under the seat. Not enough room in my F250 w/ power seats. The motor and track sits too close to the floor board.
HiFiSi
Well it is meant to be mounted in your dashboard, they have no reason to make it able to play at other orientations like standard disk changers.
riggz
i guess i could mount the P9 or P90 vertical. does the D3 control P9 or P90 like the P6? I would assume so since it uses the IP-Bus.
whtcrxghst
The D3 doesn't control full functions of any of them because it doesn't have A/V bus. But you can run any of them in standalone and use the remote i guess i could mount the P9 or P90 vertical. does the D3 control P9 or P90 like the P6? I would assume so since it uses the IP-Bus. whtcrxghst
You can connect the changer to your head unit via P-bus and AV-bus. That way you will be able to control it from the D2 instead of with the remote I'm guessing just about any DVD changer with an IP-BUS output would work fine, and be controlled by the D2, or maybe just a standalone DVD player hooked into the AV inputs.
