ASpec818
Today, the hideaway unit of my N2 started making noise, everytime it is on. It would be an annoying whirring/buzzing noise coming from the unit. It sounds somewhat mechanical and when I held it and applied pressure to the unit, the noise would change sometimes. This only happens when the unit is on. When I take out the face, the noise would go away. Also, everything functions as normal.
occb2
When I was installing my Brain unit I saw that it had a small fan to cool the unit down. The baring could be going bad. Spray some silicone grease on the fan when its off and spin it by hand, (small stick) see if that works. That is what I do with my cpu when the power supply fan starts to make noise and it goes away for a few months. Robert
ASpec818
It was the fan indeed. I sprayed some silicone lubricant in the fan vent and it quieted down. There is still some noise but nothing like the obnoxious sound i was hearing. I'm sure this is a temp fix but this will do for now. Thanks!
