  1. I did it on a Mac. Worked like a charm. Thanks Rob
  2. Reset the IPOD. Then if that doesn't work, reset the D3. Rob
  3. How did it go? Did it solve the static?
  4. You may be right about the ip bus thing, but I have had the N2 N3 and N4 in my cars. The N2 it did show but would not sync. The N3 it sync'ed but kept losing the connection and it was driving me crazy. I couldn't dial a number or see who was calling. I could just pick it up and hang up. The N4, rules. All works well. Rob
  5. Good to see you up and running Dguy. If you want put your home area in memory. It really isn't that great, but if your close to home you'll have detail. Or if you plan a trip put it in memory. I do that with the N4 and it works while my daughter watches her movies. Rob
  6. Its a little more detail that that. Its not as easy as peeling the sticker and switching the switch. You have to rigg up a paperclip. You should take it to a radio shop that does installs. They charge almost nothing and you know your not going to mess up the radio. Rob
  7. You are going to the wrong place. Only two things on a car make noise when hooked up: A) ignition noise, to take care of that go to radio shack or best buy and they will sale you what you need. Which you do not in this case. bad ground. If all was well before the install, all they did to install the cd is run a (-) and a (+) switched, along with the ip cable. Now the IP cable...not going to make static noise. The (+) would blow a fuse when not installed properly. The (-) will give you static when not ground properly. Take a wire, put it on the (-) of your battery. Then run it temp t
  8. Ok the N1 and N2 and N3 are almost the same head units. They will all work with the brain of any unit. The N1 and N2 brain are the same, just updated software. The N3 brain is a big improvement on graphics for the Ipod and XM. Rob
  9. It won't work. It will work on the N3, but not well. It is made for the D3 and the N4. Rob

    Need a new brain

You can use a N1, N2, N3 brain. The N4 is a different system. Ebay has them, for around 100 to 200 bucks. I would stick with the N3 brain. The XM and Ipod interface looks so much better and way more info. Rob
  11. A few things could have happen. They might have upgraded the unit to the New 70's disk. If so, you will only be able to use those disks. You can downgrade the unit by going into the ROM. But like you say, you need the disks. The best thing is go to ebay, get the M70 disks and upgrade it. They are around $20-$30 bucks for the east/west copies. Rob
  12. No they will not. The N4 and D3 disks only work with the N4 and D3. There is way to make the POI work, you have to burn them into the N3 disk folder. Hope it helps. Rob
  13. I don't really know about the Zune. What I do know, is if the Zune is read as a hard drive when in USB mode like the Archos, then when you hook it up to the N4 brain with the usb module then it will read the songs and videos on your screen and you will be able to play them. The cheapest way is to just get a small USB hard drive, fill it with music. No need to have it be the Zune. Let me know if you get it working. Rob
  14. I had the same problem. If you take the IPOD back they will charge you 10% restocking fee. So they do suck. I spoke to Pioneer and they told me that they are working on it and that it will take a while, and it will be a different wire. They said that they have to figure out what apple did and go backwards to make it work on the N4. I don't know what they are doing about the N1 or N2 and N3. Rob
  15. Dude, if this unit was bypassed it will cost you $200 bucks. If not, it will be free. Rob
