RAP (Retain Auxilary Power)?

Hello, I have a 2007 Dodge Charger. I am trying to find out how to get the avic-z1 to retain auxilary power when I turn the key off? Can someone please advise? Thank you!

if u buy a harness for that car then it will retain this. youll need a amp interface if u have the boston or infiniti system.

if you already have it installed then you may need to power it off of the cigarette lighter on the dash (as long as it retains acc power)

you should have 2 cigarette lighters.

 

put a cell phone charger in each one, and watch the LED for RAP when you open the door.

 

the left one in a Dodge truck is ACC power with RAP,

and the right is battery power.

 

 

you should use the lead off the ACC/ RAP lighter to your Acc input on the deck.

 

i used a Metra CANBUS adapter, that did the same thing, but it was $30.

 

there is a much better adapter harness, that provides VSS and other signals to the deck. do a search on here for that PN.
