ok, I'm going to buy focal speakers and an amp to power them. budget isn't really an issue, can anyone reccomend models for 6X9's, 6's and an amp to power them (that will be installed under the passenger seat)?? thanks a lot! Jon

Because I drive with my headlights on during the day, my screen is always in night mode. Putting in a toggle switch and wiring it to the illumination wire of the AVIC would allow me to toggle between day/night mode on the D3 while leaving my headlights on all the time, correct? Does anyone know of any pitfalls to doing this? Thanks, Jon

Because right now it doesn't do anything, and probably never will, so why not put it to good use for something fun?

Yeah, I agree...I think it would be a pretty cool feature, or mod for the AVIC

Does anyone know of an external thermometer that has video out? I would like to plug this into one of the AV inputs of the AVIC-D3 to display the outside temperature...

Thank you for your responses. Budget isn't really an issue, it's more of just wanting to keep the car clean, spacious, and inconspicuous. I think I'll get a small amp to power the four speakers and mount it under a seat. Thanks again!

yes, i guess it does. I thought the confusion with the other posts was that the image was reversed on the monitor...making for confusion while looking at the monitor.

I have a 2000 Accord EX, I'm looking to replace the factory speakers (6X9's and probably 4's??) with after market to be powered by the AVIC-D3. (No amps). I just want decent sound quality, nothing too powerful as I have small children and don't care too much for booming bass, just want clear crisp sound... 1. is it even worth it? 2. What brand/models would anyone recommend? Thanks! Jon

I have the pioneer backup cam, and the images are not reversed. If looking strait ahead at the monitor (D3), the objects are on their respected sides. For example, an object on the drivers side is on the left hand side of the monitor

What bluetooth system did you buy? Are you sure you have a compatible BT module?

one more thing, I use a GREAT program called ID3-TagIT for editing my ID3 tags. http://www.id3-tagit.de It's very very intuitive and easy to edit massive amounts of data. ( I've used it to edit 1,000's of songs in one swoop). This is a great program to update your genres in one shot.

thank you for these posts. This will certainly make my life easier. I often wonder why we have to come up with creative ways of doing the obvious...not just with the D3 and Ipods, but with all media entertainment across the home... Anyways, great forum here, so very helpful!

Purchased and installed the GEXP920XM not realizing the traffic unit had both traffic and XM radio in it. (planned to upgrade later when my area was improved with traffic flow data). Is there simply a traffic module to add on, or do I have to bite the bullet and purchase the entire traffic/xm radio module, and scrap the P920? Thanks, Jon
