I just had this installed last weekend by a pro and since this is the first time I have seen the screen, should it have faint lines on it?
It is like the black is not completely black.
I did try adjusting the settings, could not rid the screen when it has all black background of those lines.

That's just the default background. There are others you can change it to on the nav disk, or you can put your own in using a CD-R. Instructions for that are in the user's manual, blah blah, etc. etc.
