Do I have to edit the DATA file myself (does my file have some kind of unique number (doubt it )) or can I use one that anyone prepared?

the 'noob' a few pages ago whom put the the install procedure (with his footnotes) included a DATA file in his procedure. I used that DATA file.

It says 128.0 inside it, but maybe he did it wrong.

My symptoms are: complains about brake wire not being installed correctly after a certain speed, and disabling video, and gps text input.

I have the brake wire grounded. I have the file in place (but it might be an improperly edited one).

thanks you so much

I have downloaded all the files required and even changed the .ini file. I have already updated my avicf900bt to the 2.006. I cannot get my unit to boot up into Win CE mode so that I made update my modded data.zip file. Can anyone please help me. Thank you

After much searching and reading for countless hours I finally by passed the software unit for my F700bt. A bit confusing (and not to mention the constant bumping of posts by ppl), thanks to avic 411 for helping me out. I love the unit more now!

I have purchased and installed the 3.1 upgrade from Pioneer. Now my software bypass is no longer working. I have started going through the two SD cards and there are 3 data.zip files. Does anyone know which to use?

does new firmware erase mods?

Is it true you should do either the hardware bypass or the software bypass BUT NOT BOTH? Somewhere in this thread someone wrote IF YOU DO BOTH IT WILL SCREW UP YOUR STEREO. Is this true? I've been afraid ever since I read that.

The DATA file I got from this thread (the one where the NOOB retells how to do the procedure) doesn't seem to work (I do have the handbrake grounded). Can anyone give me a link to a working DATA file (or the file)?

This mod is awesome. Thank you. FYI: I only did the software mod. No wires were injured in the process of this mod. :D

It never affected my unit and I had both bypass proceeders in place. He was the only one to report that and to my knowledge the only one to see the problem. He also fired off other claims that turned out to be isolated to him.

I have the same problem since I did the manual update my F900 in 3010100 (normally for F910/710). The parking_break_speed set to 255.0 or 256.0, as soon as I roll the functions of my avic are limited.

Did you ground the P. brake wire?

Posted Nov 05, 2009 · 14:02 UTC#337

my brake cable is connected to the P.brake, otherwise it would bypass software any interest ?!

Posted Nov 05, 2009 · 14:42 UTC#338

Well thats why its not working, read the instructions again.

Posted Nov 05, 2009 · 14:56 UTC#339

I know the instructions. I edited my pioneer.ini changing parking_break_speed with the value at 255.0 and 256.0 also.

This worked well on my F900 version 2.xxxxxx but since the upgrade to 3.010100. This parameter does not work? I do not understand the problem?!

Posted Nov 05, 2009 · 16:02 UTC#340

You still have to have the P brake wire grounded or it wont work. At least if it is a US unit.

Posted Nov 05, 2009 · 16:30 UTC#341

My unit is Euro and P. Brake is connected to my parking brake. In 2.xxxxxx version the sotware mod bypass was OK but most versions 3010100 ?! Perhaps due to use of APL and APL2 files for F910 (EU) on F900 (EU)?

I need to know what firmware and step by step instructions for the brake bypass i have a avic-f7010 im trying to watch Ipod video while driving and have the correct ipod video cable but im getting spped warning i tried mute wire bypass and grounding brake but does not work it still cuts at roughly 16mph

can some one direct me the thie links and files needed as well as the instrustions i have never used a avic SD to update anything im used to old units just adding switch or grounding and being done lol :D

I like the simple idea of changing the parking_break_speed setting in pioneer.ini.

But here is my problem. The latest firmware version available on Pioneer's site (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/ ... 10BT?tab=F) is 3.0101, but my new AVIC-X710BT came with version 3.020000 installed. I would be willing to "downgrade" to the slightly older 3.0101 in order to get the modified parking_break_speed, but apparently the unit knows what version it has and won't install the older version.

Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe just wait for Pioneer to post version 3.020000?

I have the Avic -F500BT and installed CNSD-150FM update which was purchased legitimately.

I unlocked the unit but cannot find the speed function so I am unable to do any changes to the unit while moving. Prior to the install I had done the mod and it worked great, my unit is also grounded. Does anyone have an idea where the file is so I can change the speed to 128 or 256. Had I known this was going to be the outcome I don't know if I would have spent $60 on it.

Thank You

In the data.zip which is on the flash disk in the apl2\igo directory. Once that data.zip is uncompressed its in the pioneer.ini file in the Data\project_config folder.

I have my mods on two different platforms. I have a user that says they cannot touch anything on the screen if the parking brake is not up at least a little on my newest set of mods. On my older mods from back in September this person can use everything just fine. The parking brake variable is set the same on both mods. Is there anything else that might affect this? I am searching through files not but coming up with much since this is really system level.

Thanks,

Alex

I think I've added " USE_SEPARATED_SAFETY_MODE=0" to pretty much every button in navigatemap_800_480.ui in your latest mod. Couldn't mute the Nav voice or cancel a route without the handbrake applied (I'm in a manual, have the softmod applied but not the hardwire PB to GND and move mute hack).

Really? That solved it? I was told that those lines did not really apply to our units and were more for the standard igo units. I will add them in permanently if it fixes it!

It doesn't really apply if you have done the hardware hack (i.e. swap the Mute wire and ground the parking brake). But some of us haven't done it for one reason or another (me, I was lazy, knew of the software version and thought it would have the same effect as grounding PB, then decided to fix next time I had the dash open which was never because the replacement HD tuner died on the bench instead of making it into the car). Now I just add the statement to any button in the screens I use the most, and live without it in the lesser used screens.

According to GPSPassion and other forums, one could make disable it globally via sys.txt, but I guess it makes the interface much slower:

[interface]

;use_separated_safety_mode=1 ;(0) makes it slow

;use_separated_safety_in_mainview=1 ;(0) makes it slow
