Yes, speedcams are enabled.

I'll take a pic of the screen when I actually get to the car next time. In the meanwhile here's a pic off of the HP Ipaq emulator I use to debug. Sorry that it has too much random crap all over -- I'm trying different things. What is in my scripts:

On the bottom you see 63 E Ontario St 58 <- and that's how it looks on Avic (since it is combined with the street name, font size and color etc. are identical).

On the top left, near the next turn indicator, you see the Turn Restriction sign.

Ohh chicago how much i miss though, but winter is coming and glad i'm not there.

Sweet, is that what your avic looks like?

Anyone knows how to create a button in the main screen to run another gps application that is installed in the flash disk?

Tks in advance

No, mine doesn't look quite like that, but I used this to debug house numbers and turn restriction sign.

To execute other software, I think EXEC command does it. I doubt that the unit has enough memory to run both iGO8 (which will stay running unless you explicitly close it, but then the unit might reboot) and something else...

copied pioneer folder to igo directory and everything looks good.

the detour does need cosmetics like you said but i like it being on the map now i'll use it more now that its easier to get to.

POI address search is nice also, looks factory, great job.

House numbers are neat. like your image, the same avic map but with numbers on both sides of "street". But you wont see right # if you're playing a source since its info cuts off some of the real estate in that area.

I did notice you changed the clock on the map...thank you, that thing was soo hard to see.

the one thing i forgot to check out was the speedcam. Did you find a better source for us to use for speedcams or are those txts files from the other threads fine? If so, where do i insert them in avic or do i keep them on SD.

By the way...you're a G 8)

Thanks.

I'll try to see what Gurjon does on his detour screen and implement that, including time-based street blocking and nice things like that.

As far as I can see the audio info is overlayed on top of iGO screen by A/V software, I didn't find any way to detect what the actual useable area of the street display is, and I did not want to place house numbers above the street name.

Speedcams I _think_ it will import them from a special directory on the sd card (pioneer.ini file says which one) but I would just copy them over.

I don't know of any reliable complete source for speedcams in US/Canada, so I think the ones VBLUE42 posted will have to do for now.

If he does have updated lists, of course, we can import them :)

I will check tonight to see if there has been a substantial update recently. If so I will update the original file.

is there anything on that update that we can integrate into our pioneer units.

These enhancements caught my eye:

Enhancements:

* POI memory optimization

* Memory management optimizations, eliminating memory leaks

* Speed optimizations

Not until Pioneer decides to give us aqn update -- unless you want to use some major functionality, AVIC uses a custom build of iGO that allows it to integrate with the A/V parts of the system (not to mention support for VSS sensor, internal gyro etc., which are not present in the standard version)...

two things:

The turn restriction seems to be wrong. well when i'm driving and there is a street on my right, like a driveway intersection, the restriction symbol appears saying i cant turn right, when i can.

Also i havent been able to find the MSN debug/options buttons either.

For turn restrictions, you'll have to complain to TeleAtlas -- they are the one who encode this info into maps. FWIW it seems to be reasonably accurate in Chicago area...

MSN options are in MSND_800_480.UI file.

BorisM, I uploaded your recent script. Howver, street# is right above the current address line one on the left and one on the right and in red colors. Time is shown also in red on the right top of the screen. Arrov is still arrow, I do not see car icon. Have I done something wrong? ALso one time turn right arrow seemed messed up. There was a cross and right turn symbol together.

...and how cam I see the speed of the car on the screen?

Then you have downloaded the wrong script set. House numbers on the same line with street name are in the latest file, ui_pioneer.rar

Crossed turn sign is, as described, turn restriction indicator.

I am pretty sure that I downloaded the recent ui_pioneer.rar. Could you post here the very most recent scripts one more time, if you do not mind?

Here it is...

Posted Oct 19, 2008 · 13:53 UTC#68

borism, I can't seem to find the option to add a speedcam. I found the turn on setting and I see them on my map but when im driving and press the info - save as button, speedcam isn't there. am I doing something wrong?

Posted Oct 19, 2008 · 19:07 UTC#69

That would be in place.ui and place_800_480.ui files. Make sure you have the modded ones.

Posted Oct 20, 2008 · 13:13 UTC#70

BorisM i just downloaded your script file on page 2. Is this the latest and greatest set? the one i had before was on page 3 which is a much smaller file. You said you would post the most recent scripts to keep track of changes, i guess you meant most recent individual scripts not the entire package  .

Will the icons in this set overide the ones i used from Branded.zip in the other thread?

I also noticed 'night' ini files, what do those do? This is a big package, i just drop the whole folder into Igo directory?

Posted Oct 20, 2008 · 15:40 UTC#71

The smaller script set should be the latest changes that I did not have time to incorporate into DATA.ZIP. I haven't had much time to do extra skin development lately, so there haven't been many updates.

Icons in branding.zip are the ones the system will use.

Night UI files would be the ones that should override default ones when the unit switches to night color scheme. (just like it has a night set of bitmaps).

As long as files are in ui_pioneer directory in iGO's folder, and keep the same folder structure as in data.zip (i.e common and 800_480) they will override same-named files in DATA.ZIP

Posted Oct 20, 2008 · 15:42 UTC#72

So i need to check the 3rd page files i have and copy/overide them to the bigger zip package from page 2? Good enough, thanks.

Posted Oct 20, 2008 · 16:21 UTC#73

Basically, yes. I also tried to put in descriptions what each file does, so if щнг are using some other mods you do not override them.

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 20:48 UTC#74

Question about street numbers.

is it possible to have the same principles applied to highways? like upcoming exits while not in route be displayed as if it was a street #.

Posted Oct 23, 2008 · 21:43 UTC#75

I'm not sure... If those are available as objects in FireFly object model then yes. I'll try to see if any skin shows this info...
