will this work with an f700bt? or is it f900 only? Can the data files be loaded back and forth? The firmware update files are the same, so I would think so. Could ya let me know before I go screwing up my f700. :D

Thanks, but the newest download doesn't seem to be working on my f700bt.

I haven't had time yet to take a look and see what could be causing it to hang (Please wait...then reboots)

Checksum of downloaded file:

$ md5sum DATA.ZIP

i've been messing with this and can't get seem to get it right...

i have a couple of criteria i'm trying to meet.

1. to not cover up/overlap iPod album cover art on the bottom of the x=720 axis

2. regular sized clock

3. replace GPS sat with Voice Mute Mod

; *** Voice guidance mute mod by Gert-Jan ***

; *** End Voice guidance mute mod ***

any help would be greatly appreciated

Peter, note that I've modified the zip file pretty dramatically in a manner that should better accomodate iPod coverart.

thanks a lot... i'll try this out quick.. before my car get cold..just got home.. heh

***EDIT***

ipod cover art covers the entire POI/Cancel route button =)

i'm going to just move the voice mute to where the GPS signal is .. and move the POI to where the nav mute was....

question is how does the X/Y relate to the actual image. is it the placement of the upper left corner? or bottom left corner?

also, the icons included have this black border to it .. think we can eliminate the black border to better match the other icons? i'll prob fire up photoshop after i'm done eating..

Icons are fixed. Data.zip in the first post and the attachments to the specific instructions on the first page are corrected.

X is distance from the left side of the screen. Y is distance from the top.

well that i understand.. i just meant .. how does it correlate to the actual icon.. is the pixel designated for the upper left corner of the icon or the lower left

Hey, first I want to thank Mav for the help getting my GPS button to work (thanks for the sprites man, that solved the problem).

Now I have a question to anyone that can answer me:

I am using linear compass with this code:

;compass

Can I put the detour function on this?

Thanks guys and gals!

Curious timing. I just answered that for another guy in Keeper's thread. I haven't tried it, but this should work:

;compass

As I told the other guy, this might be overkill (i.e. you might just need to add the alternative sprite to the first one), but this should do it from a belts and suspenders perspective.

I'm trying to do the linear compass. Where do I input this code?

thanks

First post, data.zip, and code, bmps, and pictures listed on first page have been upated to reflect a number of changes. This is probably my final update to my setup as it is now in a position where I really, really like it.

That I don't know. I just used the x/y value of existing icons as a bearing point and moved from there. Sorry man.

It should, but I'm not guarantying anything. I'm not even guarantying that it will work with an F900 even though it works with mine.

Yeah, I made a mistake in the coding of the find address button. I fixed it. It should work fine now.

You're gonna have to be more specific. The second layer is the house numbers.

Use it to replace (or, better yet, comment out so you can go back easily if it doesn't work) the existing compass code (in the first layer, near the top of the navigatemap_800_480.ui file). I do not use a linear compass, so I DID NOT TEST THIS CODE.

I know everyone is sick of noobs asking questions but I've looked around and I can't find help. Can anyone give some simple setps on how to apply these great mods? I understand how to copy the code onto Data and how to get into testmode but I'm totally confused beyond that. Thanks for your help.

Hey Mav - Looks good, really nice job.

Posted Dec 08, 2008 · 00:12 UTC#70

jneilon has confirmed that the following should work if you would like to use the linear compass instead of the standard dial compass. Again, I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS AND CANNOT VOUCH FOR IT.

;compass

Just tried it and did not work....

All I did is replace the Compass code from the file with this code. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

I can vouch... it works! THANKS GUYS!!! :D

You probably need the referenced bmps from Keeper's data.zip file...if you don't have those, I'd suspect it won't work. Again, I don't use the linear compass, so I can't tell you whether it works or not.

hmmm the speed limit function constantly shows my current speed rather then the expected function...

i've used the latest data.zip posted with the only modifications being the moving of the nav mute button...
