Guys,

After a long time trying to get used of those poor quality icons from pioneer I decided to create a complete theme for the functions I most use in the system.

I changed the main menu screen, the audio/video screen, ipod controls (music and video), fm display, and a lot of other... Thanks ImBasketCase with the image transparency problem.

Feel free to download and change it anyway you like....just download the Image.res, unzip and copy it to your APL directory

Camera didnt produce the best pictures like you said, but the theme looks pretty nice from what I can see. Love the iPhone and iPod!

damn we came a long way from the invention of AM radio to his havent we? Thomas Jefferson would have been proud to see his contributions come this far.

Lookin' good, Guga. Amazing how the smallest details can make it look that much nicer.

Posted Feb 16, 2009 · 15:30 UTC#6

Nice job Guga!

Guga,

Do you know where the UI/XML files for the AV screen are kept at?

Also, know what a bpnd file is and what can open one?

Ceger,

I don't have XM here in Brazil, so I can't test it....but probably they are kept in the same image.res file....If you want to take a picture of the unit when the XM is active I can search them for you.

The bpdn files looks like text (XML) to position things on the screen, never tried to edit them to see what happens.

good stuff man

I'm working on my own complete theme, I don't want to release any screens before I'm made some serious progress... Trying to go iPhoneish and I've made some good progress...

We should definitely combine our efforts with some of the images... I spent a good while getting the ipod wheel how I want it and I think it looks pretty good.

I'll keep you posted

awesome I just noticed you used the itunes no album art thing

I did the same I put the round edges on it though

Posted Feb 17, 2009 · 17:53 UTC#11

Feel free to use any image in my theme to complete your theme..... If you need I have all the original images that I used..

New theme by GUGA and ImBasketCase?!?!?lol

I definitely want those round edges for the thing in your last pic (the backdrop behind the album art)... just tell me the file name for it and I'll take it from your images.res

Posted Feb 17, 2009 · 18:38 UTC#13

The image is 746_32K_AV-800_32b.bmp in AV directory. It's preety big so you can resize it with no problem.

When I said that I have all the original images, i meant that I have all the images I use to produce the icons...without background and overlays.. If you need them just let me know

This really is the best looking image.res file I have seen. This is what I'm currently sporting.

Can you upload the files for the main navi icon with the car? I want to throw a different car on that bad boy.

Hi ggarcez, I think your theme is amazing! I really like it! I have one question for you, could you make me a new menu navigation icon using my car? I could send the photo to your email. Let me know if it wil be too much work...

Thanks a lot in advance

Hi guys,

First of all tks for all the replies....

As a lot of people were asking for a different destination icon I created a new one more generic so exeryone can use the theme. Just unzip, rename it to image.red and copy to the apl folder...

http://rapidshare.com/files/201984856/Image_generic.zip

Sorry but I won't be doing specific icons but I'm including the map image in png format so everyone can do your personalized destination icon.

If there's any change in the theme that you guys need and that won't be specific, such as destination icon with a '04 black honda accord, I'll be pleased to do.

Tks

Seems like that file is corrupt because when you unzip and rename it and replace the file in /APL folder all graphics upon load are blank. Is this 7ziped right?

Posted Feb 23, 2009 · 20:30 UTC#21

That is weird when I unzipped it and renamed and dropped it in the APL folder it did nothing for me, the menu destination picture was the same.

The folders you see in the .res (using 7-zip) need to have an "Image" root folder - so the first thing you see when you open the .res file is an "Image" folder, then under that are the other four - Av, Common, Main, and Tel. I added that and it works fine.

Sorry about that guys.....there was a missing root directory in the zip file....Links updated.
