The Pioneer default arrow is HUGE. Arrow size is controlled in sys.txt. Arrow color is controlled by the colorcheme selected. i.e., Pioneer Blue Day.

oh crap sorry. I have been using a mod since day one and could not remember.

This is controlled from the GPS Status screen under Time Settings. Turn off the auto-adjust feature if you can't pick a time zone that fits your needs.

fairstars audio converter and kans sound normalizer. Have to get them into a format that's easier to edit, then convert them back.

I use Audacity to actually edit them, but I had 310 files that needed to be louder and this were the easiest way I found to batch edit.

310 files? what files are they and are you planning on using them for?

i used a TTS program to create the new spoken warning files,

go to testmode and adjust the time settings in the control panel, remember to click apply after choosing your timezone instead of clicking ok, let me know how it goes

There are 310 sampled commands used in the hybrid TTS/sampled samantha. They needed to match the volume of the actual TTS and were only about half as loud to start with. I've modded rules and voice files for way too long now. She's never going to be perfect, but she is better. Moving on. :-)

Posted Apr 14, 2009 · 01:09 UTC#360

so anyone tried the voice upgrade?

Posted Apr 14, 2009 · 03:17 UTC#361

There are 2 versions on the FTP now. One is Full TTS with the new rules applied and the other is Hybrid TTS/Sampled. Both will auto-install when the 2 folders are extracted to an SD Card.

ftp://avic:[email protected]/cmh928/

SamTTS and SamHybridTTS

The hybrid sounds more natural, but isn't as consistent as the full TTS version.

Installing the original Testmode.zip from the root of the FTP will return unit to the stock voice.

Is it possible to load your V2.7 easily like cmh928's? For example, simply loading the two folders onto the SD card and turning on your car.

I like your screen shots better as its less cluttered but am hesitant to do your mod without first knowing EXACTLY what to do.

Thanks

For some reason when I try to access the URL for the DL above, the site is blocked. Can you perhaps post that zip file somewhere else on another ftp?

Thanks a bunch!

Regardless of the distance that is set, the system will notify you from a long distance, usually 300m. Secondly, is their anyway to make the audio louder? When I have the voice alert on full, I can still barely hear it with music on. Alternatively, it would be even better if the music muted slightly and the voice took priority (like when receiving directions from the nav system)

Sorry to be a pain but you seem to have all of the answers!!

i think the warning distance can be selected in the custom speed warning settings,

regarding the spoken alert volume, i'm still trying to find a way to make it louder, i just noticed that early this week when i had the volume up to 30,

I am having big problems. I extracted the files from the NOMSN folder into my SD card, let it load fully then turned car off, then turned back up, now it shows me that system is loading but goes no further than this. My navigation no longer works and having problems where the unit will reboot after a few minutes. what can I do to fix this. Is there anyone that can give me a copy of there stock flash drive?

Thank you.
