Here's our first clue on street pricing.

onlinecarstereo which is selling AVIC-F700BT's for $539 is showing a AVIC-X710BT for $789. OUCH!!

I have a feeling I might be ordering a F700.

heheheheh for those of us who refuse to give apple any money, its a superior sounding MP3 player, yet one that for some reason, sits lower in sales than the other.

Are the new units going to have a decent screen for Sirius?

I understand the older units had the unthinkable quality of only displaying one line of info at a time for Sirius broadcasts.

Looks like Pioneer has polished the turds that were the F series. Problem is - a polished turd is still a turd. If you need one right now, get the F whatever and the map/3.0 update. Otherwise, wait a few months until the X series turns out to be the turds I'm sure they'll be and get it for a fraction of the release price.

However, if you want something more reliable right now, I might have to suggest going with a Kenwood. Sure, they don't have the voice command for dialing a call, but really, neither does Pioneer.

P.S. Is anyone in this forum actually excited about the new lineup? I sincerely hope no current F series owners would ever buy anything from Pioneer ever again.

Superior? Hmm...

Does anyone know if these new units still run some flavor of windows?

Considering the X-series is basically the F-series plus the 3.0 software, I'd say it's a near-certainty it's running Windows CE 5.0 too.

Someone a little bitter? That or a Kenwood rep.

I wouldn't say Kenwood is more reliable if you read how buggy their flagship 9140 is

Not nearly as buggy as the F series still is.

Jason

Was one of the units in the show connected to a backup camera? am wondering if the camera in the new X series can be activated immediately at startup, rather than wait for the unit to complete its startup

Thanks

I have the X910BT installed (for the last two days).

To answer the question about the back cam, although I don't have one hooked up, it was turned on and it looked like it was avail before the system was booted up.

I'm desperate for a parking/moving bypass. Not that I want to play video while driving but far too many things are disabled. Anybody?

Should be the same as the F series bypass. Search the forum.

Most of the distributors should have them in stoock now

Posted Jun 30, 2009 · 01:24 UTC#99

So, when will the distributors be getting in the Z110BT....and when will the owner's manuals become available electronically?

The manuals for the AVIC-Z110BT are now on Pioneer's site.
