Damn you, I read that after my order and was trying to get back to where I missed the download update.

Can't wait for this.

Thanks Pioneer, for finally making the software this hardware deserved from day one!

Purchased!

Pioneer is going to get a boatload of money from the users of this forum in the next couple days! LOL

Hello,

Will there be a promotional price for Canadian customers as well? If so, how would we go about purchasing it?

Thanks.

Just ordered my copy of 3.0. Can't wait!

I know that the initial boot time is about the same, but can anyone with an X or a 3.0 comment on how it boots up when there are more things going on than just the core functionality of the unit? Like I get my iPod screen after like 30 seconds or so, but the Bluetooth isn't ready until after a minute or so, and the voice control not for a minute and change, and everything just seems so staggered. Has the code been rewritten to the point that the initial media playback screen takes the same time to come up, but the VR, BT, and iGo are loaded much more quickly or what? The video posted was a Euro model with no apparent BT, iPod, Voice recognition, or overall boot time posted (good video indicating screen response though!).

Either way, I'm just happy to get a good price on the 3.0 update.

To everyone saying they can share it since you don't need the serial when placing the order, think about this.. No software you buy requires your Mac address to buy, When you first install it, it combines everything to identify it with that PC. Now at some point, amybe someone will come up with a crack but just pay the 70 and stop bitching/whining . You all cried over the 130 price, you now have a chance to get it for 60 plus freight/aplicable taxes and you still whine. I really like my unit, and gladly paid 70 to enhance it even more.

I know this is late to respond to this, but are you smoking something? The only way software for your computer knows if it's been installed before on a different computer is if it has some kind of online activation. Your computer cannot modify the CD/DVD/installer of the software to make it so it knows it's been installed before. So your analogy and logic here is totally bogus and you might want to research DRM techniques and what Read Only Media is... Since the lower model F series don't have internet capability functional, there is no way this is going to happen on our units.

I would highly doubt that Pioneer would individually write a SD card for every purchase with your personal serial information on it. Plus if you were to walk into a dealer and buy the SD update, how would they have programmed your serial number into it? What is more likely is that the software on the SD can tell if the SD it was written on is original or not and therefore not run if it is on an illegitimate SD card (Example someone dl's a torrent with the update and pastes it on their own SD card). If that's is the case, then it's an extremely easy fix and the update will be easy to share over the web.

I ordered the update for $68. No serial required. I figured buy the update, Copy the sd cards and see if it works, then return the originals.

Call me a scammer or a theif but pioneer is the real theif for releasing a bastard product that is full of bugs.

hook it uuuuuuuuuuuuup

...because we all know that opened software can be returned without a worry.

Capital One took it out of my "available credit", but that doesn't necessarily mean they've charged my card. Most companies will not charge your card until they have shipped the product, to avoid complications.

My card was charged!

You said that in a surprised way. Were you surprised that upon purchasing something, your card was charged? lol

And Europe knows something? In the page of USA already announced, but in the page of Europe did not exist at all.

Does anyone in Europe have contacted to Pioneer?

Posted Jul 03, 2009 · 09:14 UTC#444

as far as i know it is not possible to order the update in Europe yet.

i have not contact pioneer directly, the car dealership where i purchased the unit was told by pioneer that the update was not yet available for order (this was a week ago)

i will be at the car dealership on wednesday and will ask them again about the status of update 3.0

if he has some news i will let you know

I agree but in this case the charge is real. It hit my bankcard just like a regular purchase. No big deal but like you mention, companies usually do not charge till the product ships. I order a lot from different places and up till now (being first time) nobody has charged my card till the product was in stock and shipped.

Not complaining and if something does go wrong, I just call the bank with the info and the charge will be reversed. Already tagged it in the online account so I won't loose track of it.

wow, its about time they came out with a mpa update. By chance I went to pioneers website to check for a miracle of a firmware update, and it shows 2.06, which a few flimsy minor updates (3). Im happy i did a search and found this, and at least map updates and a new firmware are available.

Hurray!

I have been using my f90bt for about 2 months, and have been less then thrilled with it. I am having all types of lag, freeze ups with phone, and non-responsiveness...other than that it works great :P

I contacted Pioneer Finland today and they told me that the update will be available here after 1-2 weeks for about 150 euros. They said that you will only receive a "code" after purchase which lets you order those SD cards from the page where you have registered your player. They said that those SD cards only work with my player (actually the lad told me that you can make it work with every player by just changing the S/N to a file inside those cards so I think the "grey" update also works). The price is pretty "salty" here but it will include free map updates for a year...

I also contacted Pioneer Finland, and got an email response two days ago. It sayd that update is available in near future from resellers for a retail price of 200 eur. I hope the guy who answered to you knows more than the guy who answered to me, 150 eur sounds bad enough.

Maybe Kenwood for the next ride...

Hello

I tried to buy it online, but can't go to the end because I can't choose Canada.

Is there a way to buy it in Canada?

Greetings
