looks like we have a problem... i hope i didnt brick it.

 

i only have a 2GB sd card and i was going back and forth between the pc and the car to update and when i go back inside to load it with the 1.59GB sd3 data load, for some reason, it runs out of space at around 995MB. its a 2GB card and i formatted it! i tried a few times and it still thinks it only has about 1GB space on it.

 

can i start all over again once i have a new SD card or is the system bricked? i get a blank screen after the pioneer logo screen.

 

any help will be greatly appreciated...

 

um you should be able to fit all required files onto ONE 2GB SD card... be sure you disable hidden files... maybe there is a hidden file in there thats taking up the space?

 

This is what I did:

 

I had the WINCE files on the root of the SD card

And the TestMode folder containing the small files required for testmode to work.

then I made a folder called "My flash Disk" so I know which files to copy and then I dropped the torrent files into this folder... be sure you're only copying these files into the avic's "my flash disk"..... make sense?

 

all the files total are just under 2GB so everything fits just fine... not sure how you have managed to fill it up...

i may have bad sectors on that card. ill get a new card and try again. do i have to start at step 1 though?

i have the firmware ver.3.03 on my f900.

how do i backup that?

can i do this install using a USB flash drive? or does it have to be SD card?

It's just such an ungodly huge file that I don't think you are going to find anyone to host it for free. If so, I have the .zip file on my thumb drive here at work. I'm sure the draconian filter will prevent me from going anywhere that would let me host it, but if you know of a place, then I'll give it a shot.

BTW, did the 3.0 (and then the 3.0101) install on my F90BT last night and everything went FLAWLESSLY. The WinCE format, the file copy, the pioneer upgrade to 3.0101, and then the installation of the modded data.zip on 3.0101 - all of it went of without a hitch! So now I have an F90BT with 3.0101 on it, with soft bypass/mute guidance/nav cancel. FTW MF's!!!

Which MOD data.zip did you put on your 90BT.

For the 3.0101 or 3.0? They were both data.zip files that I modded myself to have the soft bypass, the guidance voice mute buttons, and the nav cancel compass buttons. I can put them up here if you'd like.

I am willing to host it for free. Someone here has already given me the files, I'm going out to the car and grab my SD for a test right now.

Ok, so I installed the 3.0 update and it fixed my 'bricked' avic. But now the only problem is that it won't read music video files on my SD card. It will read the audio from those video files. Does anybody know whats wrong?

installing my f90bt today and updating to 3.0 with this walkthrough. also gonna put in IDT v2 mod. hope everything goes smoothly got the update all on 1 sd and the IDT mod on another smaller one.

I have an F90BT and I followed the install instructions to the letter, and everything installs fine. Here's the issue, when I restart the system for some reason the "System Startup" box does not go away. The radio works, but I cannot access any of the settings or navigation because the box covers the buttons. I have tried re-installing the software completely several times, but still the same problem. I also used the the format option while upgrading WIN CE. Any help would be great.

the specific install is it compatible with f900 bt European edition? i have read the question again through the 8 pagew of the topic but not the answer does anyone know? has anyone use it in European F900 bt?

and secondary if we put the 3 firmware from here then we must update in 3.1 using the x series update? not the f?

and one last question after passing 3.0 or 3.1 how easy it is to return to any of f900 firmware because if i understand right the f900 will became x series am i correct ?

My splash screen was retained as well. When it said I was going to lose everything, I thought I was going to lose EVERYTHING. My splash screen stayed, as well as a few other things, like my XM presets.

My EQ settings didn't save, which was good, since I tweaked them.

Just wanted to update that I installed the f90bt and 3.0 w/ IDT v2 successfully. Took about 25 min total w/ the 3.0 and mod install.

Can i use WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS from the 3.01 update? if not where can i find the 3.0 WINCEIMG.BIN & WINCEIMG.CKS ?
