I like the changes, thanks for this and it works perfectly (hopefully) into my request. I was thinking since I have a compass in my rearview mirror of getting rid of the compass on the screen. Can you tell me how to just delete it out? Can't wait for it to be done.

You should be able to get rid of the compass by deleting this code from 'navigatemap_800_480.ui'

Hello Master ABB. I have a request that would reduce auto folder in the 3D view? Thank you, Pat

Sorry, I dont know what you mean???? Are you talking about the car image in 3D view?

Congratulation Abb, very nice indeed with all those icons, I like it very much with the chrome theme, so I guess I will stick with it for a while (a long while).

If it is not too late, I would suggest grouping the RETURN TO HOME, SPLIT INFO SCREEN, SPEEDOMETER together by moving the AV BUTTON. So when there is no GPS signal, this group of 3 icons will disappear from the screen at the same spot, which should make the layout better.

Can't wait for it to come out ...

Yeah, I hear yah, but it is kinda too late as it is all done. I just need to take some pics and I will have it up tomorrow after work. I will move them though with the next update. I never really thought about it because I always have a GPS signal. That is why I never realized the problem with the phone. Lol, we have no tunnels here

Just unzip using any 7-Zip, edit the quoted file with Windows Notepad if you don't have anything else (to remove the code), and repackage it with 7-Zip.

Go to IDT's mod and at the front it tells you how to change from the arrow to the car. Just reverse it and you should be able to bring back the arrow again. Just remove this from the SYS.txt file in the [3D]

car_day=hot_rod_red.mdl
car_night=hot_rod_red.mdl
ghost_day=hot_rod_red.mdl
ghost_night=hot_rod_red.mdl

And then change the car size to this

3dcarsizemin=2500
3dcarsizemax=5000
3dcarsizemul=15000

Yes, with a 100% fade, you will have it like it was before, but with an invisible button just below the compass to bring back the icons. However, if you want the buttons to remain intact, you have a choice of having the fade 'off', which will put the icons there fully solid, or if you want them translucid, just adjust the fade to 50%, or 75%. I added pics to show tghe fade in the first post.

Thank you Abb for the fruit of your long weekend works :mrgreen: . I will test it out tomorrow. :D

Looks like that you have also removed the Windows style welcome greeting ... any reason for that?

I listen to that greeting EVERY DAY when I boot up my computer. It is NOT going to happen when I get into my car :)

You're right, I listen to it two times and it got disabled afterward in the Custom menu. There are people who change the greeting though ... don't know what those people think, but this is a mod for you anyway. :lol:

Road testing today ... :D

I did a quick nav back home this morning and the only thing I saw was cosmetic. In the split screen during nav, the distance to the next turn was "squeezed" together. Sorry no screen shot.

Abb.Your mod just gets better.You are doing IDT proud.The only thing i wish to change is the colours and possibly font in the bottom information bar ie time to dest/distance to dest etc.I am finding the yellow very difficult to see(probably just my age!!)Is it possible for you to tell me if(how)it can be changed.Thanks very much for a superb piece of work.

Hey, Abb,

what color scheme are you using in the screen shots?

Thanx,

Bud

OMG, it is one that I redesigned from here:

http://artwork-igo8.blogspot.com/search/label/scheme

I change schemes and redesign them by adding newly designed backgrounds frequently.

It was originally a scheme made out by crepuscolo. I changed the background and named the scheme 'crepuscolo_summer.zip'

The TMC is not supported in Abb's Nav Mod, sorry but you must be dreaming the other day ... :lol:

What do you mean by 3D petrol station?

Posted Apr 06, 2010 · 21:29 UTC#122

Hi ABB,

I am new to this site. I really like this theme you've created. How can I get it? Where can I find play-by-play instructions on installing it on my 700bt. I've downloaded and installed the latest firmware from Pioneer site using a SD memory, so I am not a complete idiot ( only a partial idiot :D ). Thanks in advance.

It is actually quite simple. I would suggest loading this mod with my 'Chrome Theme' so everything will match.

To install the 'Chrome Theme':(Do this first as this is easier and it will give you a feel for it)

1-Download 'ChromeImage.rar', which you can find here

http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=31150

2-extract the rar file using winrar or something similar.

3-inside the Chromeimage folder you have a 'image.res' file

4-Put 'image.res' file on SD card with the latest 'testmode' file

5-boot Avic with SD card in slot

6-You will come to a Windows CE screen. Click on 'My Device'

7-Go to your storage folder and copy the 'image.res' file

8-go back and open 'My Flash Disk'

9-Put the 'image.res' file in 'My Flash Disk/APL' folder

10- when it asks to overwrite a file, say ok. When it is done copying, you are good to go. Take out your SD card and reboot your system.

To install the Nav Theme:

1-Download 'Abbs Chrome Nav Mod V1.3.rar'

2-extract the rar file using winrar or something similar.

3-inside the 'Abbs Chrome Nav Mod' folder, you have a 'Data.zip' file. Add this file with all the files in 'put in APL2-IGO Folder', and put all 5 files in 'My Flash Disk/APL2/IGO' Folder

4- when it asks to overwrite a file, say ok. When it is done copying, you are good to go. Take out your SD card and reboot your system.

You would have to change the POI icons for the gas stations. There is a file called Branding.zip in the "My Flash Disk/APL2/iGo" folder from Pioneer, with plain vanilla basic icons. You have to replace this file with a custom one.

Search Branding.zip in the forum, under Hacks/Mods, there are two threads by VBLUE42 on this matter.
