I was able to capture and overwrite the FX3.1 and it really works great.  My F90BT went into the loop in 2012, and then again yesterday, but I was able to reload it again and it worked.  My question is: I have a a factory CNSD-300FM SD that I bought from Pioneer, but I hesitate to load it, because I don't want to lose my cool mods.  Can I just overwrite the APL2...IGO...content files with copies of the newer maps?  I want to keep everything as it is, except I want the newer maps, I don't care about losing the old POIs.  The thing I'm curious about is that the file extensions look different between the 2009 maps, and the newer ones on the CNSD 300.  Thanks for any guidance.  

Hello Guys, my problem solved. I Was send my unit to service and them fix it. The problem was incorrect uboot files and windows image. Thanks for help!

Edit: Ack, after step 5, when I restart the unit, it does not boot into test mode.  I get my splash screen, and then it feels like the unit turns off.  How long of a wait is it usually?

I completed this mod about a week ago but i am having issues with it and i would like to go back to the original pioneer image does anyone know how to do this. my problems are this. i cant get into test mode anymore at all. my buttons to change the music does not work the function button only works when it wants to and i tried to do a complete fresh install with the original 3.1 files but it tells me it cant find the wince file. i really like the added functions of this mod but i guess at this point i just want to go back to my original set up is there a way to do this can anyone please help me out.

Eventually I was able to find a couple of link sources to the FX3.1. However, spent massive time reading up on all the pages.
Avic-f700bt owner here btw, At the step where I reach the blue screen and input the service code, I select update wince, update from SD card but the screen goes black after a few seconds, it just wont stay on that blue screen long..... Not sure what Im doing wrong.
I still went ahead and tried deleting contents from Flash drive, copied all the contents from the FX3.1 flash drive folder onto it, Its caught in a splash screen booting loop. I even tried to revert to the 2.008 firmware from pioneer but it still wont boot up...... I am currently trying to update FX3.1 from a different source into the head unit. Hope this works.

I thought I my F700BT was done. I bricked it when my battery died a few months ago. Tried to take it in to an audio shop but they were closed so I looked online and read post after post trying to find something. Then I downloaded this and at first it didn't work but found a post that said you have to unzip in Windows and not a mac so thats what I did and bang it worked. You saved my road trip major as I don't know what I would have done with no music.

I just wanted to confirm that the google drive files worked and saved my Avic-F700BT.

One important step that can not be stressed enough, this NEEDS to be done on a Windows PC. I tried unzipping and loading the SD card on my Macbook and got a fatal error. Redownloaded the files on a PC and unzipped them there, problems solved. For those of you requesting people to reseed the torrent, all you need to do is download the files shared on this google drive. (it's also much faster).

How do I download FX3.1? There is no download.

First let me say thanks for all the hard work and you guys are amazing.
I downloaded the 3.1FX torrent and extracted it to ta 16GB SD Card that I formatted Fat32 (using diskpart).  I am running Map Version: 01.000600 and Version: 2.009000. The File structure is as follows:

SD Card\My Flash Disk (Folder)
SD Card\Testmode (Folder)
SD Card\Device.nng (File)
SD Card\ Winceimg.bin (File)
SD Card\Winceimg.cks (File)

I downloaded the files from a shared torrent and then from

I follow the instructions below but after step 4 it displays 100% immediately (no count up to the 100%)  and progress does not continue. Am I doing something wrong? Is the SD card to large for the Wince upgrade? I’ve tried both the torrent and the shared google drive files but both halt after step 4. Thank you!

1. Insert SD card into AVIC and turn it on.
2. When the pioneer logo comes up, press and hold the menu, map, eject and the reset buttons at the same time. When your screen goes completely blank, let go of the reset button but continue to hold menu, map, and eject buttons. This will bring you to a blue screen, telling you to reset the unit (ignore this), you will have to enter the service combination. Press the volume knob in this sequence and you will see * signs for each push: Up, Up, Down, Menu, Left, Right.
3. Select Wince Upgrade
4. Select Update SD Format
5. Wait until it says restart in the bottom center. Reset the unit and leave the SD card in.
6. You should be greeted with testmode (It will look very similar to normal windows). Open Explorer and copy the contents of the "My Flash Drive" Folder from the SD card to the "My Flash Drive" that is located on the unit. Overwrite everything. (It will the copying will take 140min but will only take about 20)
7. Press and hold reset for 5 seconds.
8. Select your language and voice options.
9. Enjoy FX3.1 

Bringing up old news but..........

I installed this update a couple of days ago.  Now I can't play music through my SD Card or USB.

It recognizes when I plug them in but nothing happens.  They both sit in "Loading" and do nothing else.

Suggestions?
