Is there a setting which can prevent the 2D map to defalting to North up?I would like mine to always default to Track up instead of North up.Thanks.

Harvey. Thanks. The default during boot is set on that lower line by turning "default Mute Mode" OFF. I hope to try it later today.

Never could get the audio to work, even reloading the files, so that's a deal breaker for me. dang! Now, after trying to install Chuck's, I am not quite at brick status, but gimme time!

As you are on the Diaftia thread, I would guess you are using his mod. Tap the compass in the top right corner. It should take you through 2d north, 2h heading. and 3d. If you're not using his mod, sorry, can't help.

Thanks for your reply.The problem I have is that I select Track up by pressing the compass.However after auto zoom kicks in ie at turns,roundabouts etc the 2D screen defaults back to North Up instead of returning to Track up.Hope this makes more sense.

Now I understand, but unfortunately I don't have an answer. We'll have to wait until Diaftia is back online to probe his brain. He seems to have the answers. Wish I could've helped.

Diafia, If there is a next version would it be possible to add some quick zoom buttons on the main map screen such as a "+" and "-" that can be touched easily. At the moment you can drag the distance bar but it only has a very narrow touch range and a stylus has to be used. Big fingers just tend to pause the navigation rather than zoom. Most of my driving is off road on dirt roads and fire trails which are rough so trying to zoom in and out when on the move is nearly impossible with this narrow touch range. The reason for requiring the zoom is the maps in Australia don't show the smaller street and trail names until zoomed in.

I just can't seem to get the speedcam prompts working. The best I have managed is the voice pops up when I am "over the speed limit". Should I see a visual icon or something similar on the map when I am near a speed camera? I'm in the UK running a UK Maps on a UK F900BT.

I managed to get the official speed cam database from the Pioneer UK website (by registering my unit). I think I have copied the files to the right place in Testmode. Can someone guide me in case I am doing it wrong?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi, whatever I do. I can't get TMC to work. Tried in the sys.txt to remove the 2 on the tmc setting. But it won't detect my tmc hardware. I have a f-500-bt

Just a thought. Are you 'subscribed' to it? I have the MSN version, but had to subscribe to the service to get it to activate (a couple of years ago now). I'm thinking it's the same with the TMC. Just a thought.

FWIW, I did the install (twice), ten copied all the Map and POI files from my backup of another F500BT that was updated via Pio. Those are the latest for this unit and are dated 9/10-09 except for the 8/13/08 basemap. They work fine.

Any chance you could disable to rt search when you're looking for a POI? It slows the 900 waaaay down.

Im facing a minor problem though< heres what I did.

I backed up my old flash disk.

Installed your mod. and everyhting worked fine and I backed up the updated flash disk.

The problem started after I tried adding an additional mod andthe new map updates. I kind of screwed up on the mod but the maps installed just fine. To fix the problem, I deleted the contents of flash disk and copied the back up onto my avic. however, my gps is runner slower than before. so i tried running your mod again to fix it but it is giving me an error: "mitacap folder in /my flash disk not found. Aborting"

I searched my old my flash back up and my updated flash back up and no such folder exists. Whats going on?

Sorry I have been so out of touch lately. I have a newborn baby in my life (now two weeks old) along with a 4 year old. Add to that that I work for a startup which is 1 month away from releasing our first product and things are quite busy. Add yet another complication to the mix and that is that I sold the car which my AVIC was in so I can't do any testing. It had to go with the package so to speak. I am hoping to get another AVIC for my new car but none of the current ones seem to be as moddable as the older versions. I will continue to keep a lookout though.

If anyone is interested in taking over this project then feel free. I would be happy to give some pointers on the code wherever I can. You should be fairly advanced with this stuff as the code got rather complex towards the end.

Congrats, Alex... and a huge thanks. Iran one F500BT in parallel with the built-in, when I drove to the Bay area, last w/e. I like it, with you mod better than the BMW 7er system, in most ways.
