Hey Mike so I was testing this out and got it to run but not like the video you posted. I am trying out the beta on Appradio 2 and was wondering how you added the icons to the apps menu. I read that you said the more apps feature but wasnt sure. So far it displays the screen and has some touch functionality but its almost completely off. I ran beatmaker 2 and to press certain keys on the piano I have to touch outside of the mirroring area. Some programs supported landscape but with the appradio 2 instead of it popping up like yours did it just made a grey area around the mirror display. I will post a picture to your twitter but just letting you know how its running on Appradio 2 thanks for the work!

In the AppRadio Extensions section of the Settings app, there is a menu item named 'More Apps'. Select it to choose which icons will show in the AppRadio app menu.

The touch calibration is slightly off because the window is getting scaled down for some reason (the black border around the screen). Still trying to prevent it from doing that.

Some programs supported landscape but with the appradio 2 instead of it popping up like yours did it just made a grey area around the mirror display.

Do you have an example of a free app that does this? The gray area around the mirror display is just a temporary background so I can see where the window's edges are.

I notice that when I use the video mirroring, when I open the pioneer stock music app, and then open an app that takes advantage of video mirroring, the black boxes disappear. This is at least a potential workaround until something more permenant can get put in place?

AppEx = AppRadio Extensions. Just got tired of writing the entire thing out every time. It's too long of a name.

Nice find. I'll have to see if there is anything I can do to emulate that same functionality.

Mais, lorsque je branche l'iphone à l'Appradio, j'ai bien le menu comme prévu. Neanmoins, une fois Tomtom lancé, il ne m'est pas possible de revenir au menu des applications sur l'Appradio. Je n'arrive pas à quitter Tomom (par exemple) pour lancer une autre application.

Je ne suis pas sur d'etre trés clair.

I launched tomtom with it , on mine tomtom had a grey box around it ( which i assume is how its meant to look ) But ! it wasnt center and was shifted to the left , this meant the touchscreen was well out .

Thought id let you know , as could be a bug ?

so I found a "bug" don't know if it has been mentioned yet........Yesterday I was trying to use Navigon via TV Out but it wouldn't work with Pandora......I would start Pandora, go back to the app menu and click Navigon but the Pandora screen always "forced over" the Navigon screen.........*NOTE* I did not have this problem with the iPod function (carmediaplayer, or whatever it's called)

Yea, I noticed that Pandora can be very intrusive when it's playing music. I've had problems with it even before I started this project. The Pandora you see on the screen isn't an iPhone app. It's running on the firmware built into the head unit so it has special privileges over other apps. Not sure how I can fix this yet but I'm looking into it.

Is it not possible to replace TV-out, by Display TVout, because some applications do not support TV-out, but work very well with Display TVout

Mike with the pending 5.1.1 Jailbreak due shortly is this compatible with that firmware ?

The iPhone even shuts down wit a warning for overheating.

I don't know if it is a problem with the Appradio Extensions or with the Pioneer unit itself, but i'd like to mention the issue.

Furthermore the AppEX are fairly useable at this moment already.

An option that might be usefull, is that on a per app basis you could set if it needs to be rotated or not.

I feel like the phone overheating issue is actually a pioneer thing. Also, I've found that with backgrounding enabled, you can actually lock the phone and shut off the display on the iPhone (saving you some heat). Running the display is one thing that makes the phone very hot. I don't know what pioneer was thinking when they made it a requirement to leave the phone's screen on, I don't think any phone's screen was meant to remain active for such long periods of time.
