2012 US/CAN Maps - CNSD-310FM/UC upgrade (updated to supereasymethod - beta)
Many thanks! The supereasymethod is great! Works like a charm on my X920bt.

the new bt firmware is part of this update in the FIRMWARE folder.
Just do a cold-reset of your unit. Remove all power, i.e., pull radio fuse and/or disconnect BUP (yellow) and ACC (red) power for at least 30 seconds.
Say I've already finished this how do I get the updater to try again? I somehow managed to do this:
Platform version: 4.000Application version: 4.010
Version: 4.000
.....
Bluetooth firmware version: _____
I'm hoping if I can get the updater to run I'll be able to fix my bluetooth problem.
Thanks,
Alfa

no - you dont run the updater again. You upgrade the bluetooth from settings, bluetooth settings, firmware menu. But if you don't see current firmware version, do cold-reset like i mentioned earlier

I don't know how I missed your post! I'll try that in the morning and report back. I don;t really know how I got 4.0 on this thing. I installed HACKMODE and it messed my av.exe up. I read somewhere to copy a all the of files from the "AVICZ110" folder into the PRG0 folder. So I think that "updated" half of my nav and the other half was not updated.
Just ran the updater now. Everything looks good. Should I still do the cold reset?
One question: What's the difference between PRG0 and PRG1? I noticed somewhere someone said (for another tutorial) to delete PRG1. Is that just where the new update is installed?
Thanks!
Worked perfectly for my X920-BT --> X940-BT!
Many thanks!!
worked perfectly for me aswell, z110 updated to -z120-z130-z140 Thanks alot!!
Also the whole removing the voice navigation control .. dumb idea
Ok,
Just updated, everything went as smooth as ever. Only thing is Blutooth version showing 3.1.1 and the Firmware Update button not lit up to press and update. Is there another step to do. I left SD card in when it reboot it said begin update, I said no and went into blutooth settings. Any advice

make sure bluetooth is set to ON in previous menu. This one stumped me for a while too.
*** hands out beers to everyone ***
Worked like a charm ladies and gents... Thank you very much everyone for their contributions!!
So I started with a 'bone stock' AVIC-X9310BT that came in my new Subaru BRZ here in Canada...

that was it. thanks!!
I keep getting "Incorrect SD Card" about 70% through the process on my Z130bt. I'm using an 8GB microSD in an adapter, which I reformatted and tried again but it still failed. I'm assuming the system doesn't like the microSD, so If I buy an actual SD card, is there anything specific I need to buy? or will any 4GB SD card do the trick?
Try using SDFormatter instead of the windows one. Hope it helps.
SDFormatter didn't work. I'm on my 3rd SD card with no luck, the unit is stuck in update mode and I cannot do anything with it at all. I am currently re-downloading the files and trying again, maybe something got corrupted on my first download.... fingers crossed!
Thanks Pionara, I had actually figured that one out by accident. I also managed to get this issue resolved late last night. Originally I had only put the files on the SD card that were referenced in the first post on this thread
And after I downloaded the update again I noticed another folder in the download, so I threw that on the SD card too and the update went smooth after that.1. get the update and put it on an SD card (like below) so that the SD card has Cardinfo.cif, Update, Firmware folders at the top (root) level of the sd card.
Pionara,
Do I follow the instructions in post #1 that you updated November 28th? I can't tell if I should follow your simple method outlined or do what others have done. Also, on your post #1, it says you don't need to replace the file if you have a Z130. I have a Z110 that currently has Z130 software. Do I need to copy this file over?
Thanks,
Tom
tmichelena -
you have a z110. it is still a z110. Consider it a z110 for the purposes of my instructions.
Understood! Thank you very much. Will try here in a few.
Thanks again,
Tom
is it still recommended to back up the user folder before beginning?
downloading the firmware now; going to knock this out tomorrow
I took my buddy to the tire shop today to pick up his truck that he was getting new tires put on and he plugged his iPhone into my X930BT, and I want all that stuff that showed up when using my Andriod ![]()
looks super easy; MUCH easier than I thought it was going to be!
will report back on success (or failure, but LET'S HOPE NOT!!!)
Unless you are installing Hackmode (which isn't needed), I see no reason to back-up \USER.is it still recommended to back up the user folder before beginning?

BTW, the only new feature you'll get with android over your Z130 is Pandora and AHA support. No AppMode.

I'm trying to upgrade an x940BT at version 4.00 to 4.01 using an SD card with CNSD-310FM, when I insert the SD card with the update on it it does not reboot.
I'm using a 16 gig flash card (Class 10) with the Firmware and update folders on it as well as the cardinfo.cif file.
Any ideas?
First, CNSD-310FM is only for Z110-Z130 (and the x9xx versions). Not for the x940BT.
Second, are you sure aren't already on 4.001. You need to check the Appl Version in the hidden menu. Go to theService Information screen and hold the upper left corner of the screen.
I have heard there is an update from Pioneer for the Z140 but I haven't gone looking for it on their web site.
Update: I just just Pioneer USA and I don't seen any updates to the x940 or Z140 (at least not where they usually show firmware updates on the product page).
So you may be already on the latest released software for the x940BT.
