ok so i have all 3 files on the root of a 32gb sd card. Power up my z130bt insert card, power off z130bt then power back on and i should be prompted to start update?

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 16:08 UTC#52

Which 3 files u have on root?

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 16:12 UTC#53

Firmware folder, update folder and Cardinfo.cif(the 1 you posted)

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 16:58 UTC#54

Just a note - I have a z130BT and this did NOT work for me. I used the stock one that was provided with the rest of the z140 files. If your system doesnt launch the upgrade within 15 seconds of putting the SD card in there, you have the wrong cardinfo file.

Just upgraded from Z130bt to Z140bt.

Took me about an hour to figure out why the upgrade wasn't loading after following the above directions.

For some reason the CARDINFO.cif file wasn't compatible with the Z130bt.

You need to replace it with the CARDINFO.cif file from

Thanks mattaleao updating now

Joe - please read the entire thread. Mattaleao had a similar issue. I believe he solved it by unzipping on windows. Also, see my posts about kicking the unit out of upgrade mode.

Success. Thanks to Sheka and Pionara for making this happen.

I just finished upgrading my 110BT which had the CNSD-210FM upgrade (Z130). First, I tried using the original cardinfo file but would not pop up the upgrade menu so I had to use the cardinfo from the CNSD-210FM as other suggested.

Installation of the upgrade went without a hiccup, from 0~100%.

Some folks are having trouble with getting stuck at a certain percentage when doing the upgrade. Make sure you extract Sheka's rar file to you computer first, format your card, and then copy over the upgrade to the sd card. If still having trouble try another card.

This error can be a couple things -

1.) your SD card is messed up. try reformatting the SD (fat32) and re-copying the files to it, make sure EVERY file copies over, if you miss 1, it'll fail

2.) are you on a MAC? if so try unzipping from a windows VM instead, my unarchiver in mac was corrupting a file

im using windows and winzip to unzip the files

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 20:54 UTC#62

what unzipper did you use?

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 20:57 UTC#63

WinRAR - Winzip should be fine though.

Re-format your SD card (fat32) re-copy all of the files to it, and try it again, you wont have to do the entire update again it'll re-scan to 98% and try to continue from there.

ok I did that and still give me that error do you think I need to use the old CARDINFO.cif from the last update to work and when I format I did a quick format?

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 21:06 UTC#65

No. This error has nothing to do with the cardinfo file. You should be using whichever cardfile file that was on your SD when the update started, don't switch files. This has to do with reading your SD card. Either the avic doesn't like your SD card, or you are missing a file somewhere.

Are you sure you reformatted correctly to fat32?

yea im doing a full non quick format under FAT32(Default)

if im missing a file some where could it be can you select all your file and see the exact size and number of files? 220 files 21 folders and its 3.37gb

Not sure what to suggest. Do you have a different SD card you can try? Supposedly some just don't work. 4GB Sd cards are pretty cheap <$10 now so I'd pick up another one if you can't get this one to work.

Only other thing I can suggest, is if your current SD card is larger than 4 gig, try formatting a 4GB partition, instead of formatting the ENTIRE SD card.

You are definitely missing files. Should be ~241 files, and ~3.62GB

Check the z140 folder on your computer, it should be closer to 3.62 - if it's not, redownload it and confirm. if it is, make sure it's ~3.62GB on your SD too, if not re-copy everything.

can you send me your file in a zip so I can download from somewhere?

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 21:24 UTC#71

I dont have the source files anymore. Just re-download it from the google drive if your current source is < 3.62GB

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 21:27 UTC#72

google drive says only it 2.23gb

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 21:44 UTC#73

thats right, the rar from gdrive is: 2,403,477,391 bytes

still i would try another sd card or just re-unrar directly to freshly formatted sd card.

Also, try using 7-zip instead to unrar - http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Thats the compressed size, when its completely uncompressed and you are copying it to your SD card, it should be ~3.6 gig

Posted Sep 23, 2012 · 21:52 UTC#75

anyone in Houston knows how to do this thing?
