TeleAtlas 2012 Q1 Maps for Europe

For USA/Canada see: Navteq 2011 Q4 (Released in 2012) Maps for the United States & Canada

I have tested this on my AVIC F-9110 BT with firmware (3.x), the maps are fully functional on my unit. This should also work for the F700 and up. Not sure about the F500.

I haven't updated to firmware 4 yet but this should work for firmware 4.x as well.

Instructions:

  • Download the files below
  • Extract them to the root of your SD card
  • Insert SD card with only the folders from the ZIP file in the root
  • Boot the unit in testmode (if you have the testmode folder in the root this will happen automagically)
  • Make a complete backup of the flashdrive! (Instructions)
  • Verify your backup is correct and copy this over to you PC so you have 2 backups.
  • Go into the iGo/CONTENT folder. On my unit this folder is located in the APL2 folder.
  • Delete the MAP, POI and LICENSE folders
  • Copy the MAP, POI and LICENSE folders from the SD card to the flashdrive of your unit
  • Copy the EZRIDER.EXE to the iGo folder, replacing the file already there
  • Now reboot the unit, remove the SD card and enjoy the latest maps smile.gif

Links are interchangable (parts are the same).

Awesome for you EU guys, but does anyone have this in th US version?

Posted Oct 09, 2012 · 21:05 UTC#3

I will check if I can find any US maps.

Posted Oct 09, 2012 · 21:19 UTC#4

The only thing I found is a Torrent with the latest Navtew 2011 maps from Quarter 4. There aren't TomTom/TeleAtlas maps, some people prefer one or the other.

I'm downloading them right now and will upload to Usenet later. In the mean time you can use this Magnet link and paste it into your Torrent client:

upgrading my f900gt as we speak :)

hopefully i will be able to have file melding again

as yesterdag i got stuck and my 2009 version lost it on the upgrade

Just tried this on my f900bt, with no success. Followed the guide, but as i copy'ed the new MAP and POI folder to the iGO/Content folder, it said the item you are trying to copy, is larger than the size available on your disk. It will copy as much as possible. When done, i restarted my unit, and i got stuck on the main screen, with the message: System start-up in progress, please wait (or something like that) and it stayed there for a couple of minutes, before rebooting by itself. I would call it a boot loop. Should i delete some of the maps, so it wont complain about the size? I haven't upgraded my unit to 3.0 or 4.0, shut i?

Delete the MAP and POI folders from the unit first and then copy the new folders over to the unit. This way there should be enough space available. If not, just delete some unused voices for example.

I deleted all the russian, polish, french, spanish, german etc. voices. I never use them. You can also delete from .DEM files for the USA etc if they are on your unit.

Also, for TMC traffic information. You need to enable that and select a radio channel to get TMC info from (if i'm correct, I could be wrong, the Audi MMI navigation also works that way :P)

I have tried to install 'TeleAtlas 2012 Q1 Maps for Europe' on my AVIC F700BT, but my Flash Disk has insufficient space available (1.86Gb). Is it possible to install the MAP data on alternative location e.g. a SD card? Or is there another workaround?

hai

i'm a bit of a newbie:

how does this upgrade differ from the official 2012 upgrade (navteq?),

and if you install this hack, do you get the advanced app-mode?

Second SD card after you started WIN CE should just work fine

There are a lot of mods here. Make sure you read and understand the basics.

maps are original pioneer?

or are tomtom maps?

work in a f930bt?

try them soon

TomTom took over TeleAtlas. So the maps now belong to the company TomTom but they are for this unit.

If you have not enough free diskspace try to remove some unneeded voices or .DEM files. I removed Asia, Australia etc. and removed some voices since I only use the Dutch ones :-)

Thanks, Bento.

I'll try this on a F3210BT upcomming weekend and will report back

I tried to unzip, with winzip, winrar but says crc fault. What is the solution?

Did you download from Usenet? Try to repair with the PAR files, otherwise re-download. The files were packaged using 7-Zip.

I am also interested, if the firmware (f930bt) update has been included in this one and if it will be possible to use the AppRadio functions

Hi Bento,

I wanted to say thanks for your maps.

As I mentioned in another topic, I have installed a mix between Encrypt3d US 4.01 version with your European Maps, and works really good!!

All I've done is taking the 4.01.zip file of Encrypt3d (see 3.0 Installation guide topic, page 62), delete his US maps & pois, and add your folders "maps" and "pois"... there is no need of changing the license folder or replace ezrider.exe, since the copy of Encrypt3d works just fine.

The outcome is a 4.01 version running in an European F900BT, with all the European maps, pois... and Spanish speedcams! (thanks to Robser database, a very good free database of all speedcameras).

The only bug here is that, although I can access Traffic Information Menu (TMC), I can't select a radio station that transmits Traffic Information (the button is "blur", in grey, so I can't select it). Tonight I will try to copy from my backup the related TMC files and overwrite the existing ones, to see if I manage to also add TMC to my great copy!!!

If you have already gone through this problem, ideas (or solutions) are highly appreciated.

Once everything works like a charm, I would try to upload the file so anyone with an F900BT or similar can upgrade his system from scratch to 4.01.

Thanks to you both!!!

Well I've encountered a few (bugs?) issues myself.

Apparantly all of my POI's are gone and my speedcams don't work no more. The latter probably because of the POI's.

When I browse through my POI's it just returns a blank list and none of my speedcams i bought from POIBase work, this did work in the previous maps. I'll boot into testmode again after dinner to check if everything it still there but if anyone has any tips please post :)
