What kind of car is it?

Posted Feb 12, 2007 · 20:58 UTC#27

The picture that Crutchfield is showing shows a gloss colored unit. Yuck... not a deal killer but... I'd have preferred a matte finish like previous Pioneer units.

I have a question for you guys: The compatible Bluetooth Module for the AVIC-D3 according to Pioneer's website is the BTB200, NOT the BTB100. Is this a mistake on their part or is there an upcoming module due out soon (hopefully with less bugs and better compatibility)? I can't find anything about the BTB200 adapter anywhere!

I'm sure the BTB100 is probably compatible but if there is a better adapter on the way I'd rather wait and get that one.

The 200 is the new bluetooth interface. Not availible yet though.

I heard March or April for the 200. Not sure what changes were made though. It didn't echo on the 6800DVD

My car is a 2000 Trans Am, the stereo is only a 1.5 DIN. But ive seen a few custom jobs, with custom bracket and bezel it will fit, barely. lol

Heres a custom job with an eclipse double din. If anyone knows a shop or person in S. FL that will duplicate this for cheap, please let me know! lol

FYI something like that is NOT going to be cheap. Average dash fab goes for about 300. It's a lot of work to get it to look good. You could try pming jimmy303. I beleive he's in Fort Lauderdale.

omg.... u US people are lucky~~

last night I went to vision electronics (in Canada) , they said D3 will arrive there in END of March with MSRP $1299.99 CAD, after 13% (PST, GST) tax, it will be $1470 CAD !!!

The manager is also going for D3 himself.

Anyone know any other places I can get D3 cheaper than this in Canada?

Thanks!!!

That's why i was decided to buy online in US region, have it ship to my friend's house in US, then ask him to bring it up to me when he comes to toronto, that way u saving urself big buck man

Ive been quoted 250, not too bad. Im looking for it to be wood/vinyl or something that looks stock, instead of fiberglass.

Here's something you might be interested in then. Sent to me by jimm actually.

Looks pretty good and they say they can do any pattern so I'm guessing wood grain wouldn't be that difficult.

Looks like Crutchfield has removed the AVIC-D3 from their site!

Posted Feb 13, 2007 · 02:31 UTC#38

Yeah they did, I guess they figured they were getting pwned with pre-orders and 15% off coupons... That's pretty weak that they chose to remove the unit from the site completely.

I noticed that last night, but wasnt sure if it was just an error. Glad I printed out a copy of my 15% off order to bring to Sound Advice! lol

It looks like they're still processing the orders that were placed before the removal. Hopefully they won't cancel my avic-d3 unit, but they have definitely already shipped out my other stuff with the 15% discount applied.

Hello to all..this is my first ost since finding the site and am impressed with all of the info pertaining to AVIC units..Just wanted to add regarding Crutchfield and the D3. I placed an order earlier today over the phone and was able to use the 15% discount coupon. The operator didn't know why it wasn't on the site, but still honored the discount.

Good to know. 8)

I dont know if you can order the D3 over the phone, but why don't you call and ask. If they let him do it, they'll probably let you unless Crutchfield updated their sales people regarding the D3. And yes you need to order 2 other things for the 15%.

Posted Feb 15, 2007 · 00:18 UTC#45

Some guy in an earlier post said he preordered his over the phone. Try it and theres a good chance you might get it.

About the 15% discount - The 2 other items you pick MUST BE PIONEER equipment priced at $49.99 or more. Some options I would suggest are the 12 cd changer, xm receiver, sirius receiver, rear view camera, some speakers, you could also get the btb100 bluetooth adapter but I heard the new btb200 adapter which works best with the D3 is not available yet. Unfortunately the ipod cable won't work as it's only 30 bucks.

Personally I got an xm navtraffic receiver and sirius receiver which I will probably sell off later...

You can email Crutchfield at [email protected] and ask about the D3. A sales rep replied in an email with a link for me that had a D3 in my "cart". I did the same thing Mannyman did and ordered both the XM and Sirius receivers to get the 15% discount. I will probably sell the Sirius receiver.

Worked for me!

I was holding out for more info on the Kenwood DNX7100, but decided to go ahead and buy the D3.

Hey ASpec818, I ordered through Crutchfield over the phone and they allowed me to use teh 15% discount. I did have to purchase 3 items priced above 49.99 though..I believe you have till today, the 15th...Good luck

Posted Feb 15, 2007 · 20:10 UTC#48

link, anyone? can't see it on there...

Posted Feb 17, 2007 · 01:40 UTC#49

I ordered the D3, the XM Nav and the BT100 bluetooth adpater from Crutchfield today with the 15% discount (which I believe just expired). The rep told me they took it off of the website because they did not have a firm ship date from Pioneer. Pioneer's website now says Spring 2007. I don't know if it has said that all along or not.

I inquired about the BT200 but the rep did not know anything about that. The Pioneer website shows the BT200 on the specifications tab

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... sComponent

and the BT100 on the accessories tab

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/v ... sComponent

.

Here's hoping they ship soon!
