An earlier post said the Crutchfield 15% discount code 3A185 works til Feb 28th. I ordered with it on the day it was originally supposed to expire and got the discount. Bottom line is there is probably still another day left on the discount program. It's worth a shot.

I dont want to be suckered into buying two accessories though. I just want the unit and the ipod cable.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 03:16 UTC#82

Juice, I certainly understand that. If you want to deal with a little hassle you can buy two accessories, resell them at your cost making someone else a good deal and still save $150 on the D3.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 03:20 UTC#83

I guess I will just have to wait till somewhere sells it below MSRP or try to trick best buy into price matching or something haha

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 03:20 UTC#84

Juice925, It's not about being suckered into buying accessories? We're talking about saving serious money here!

You can get a D3 with an Sirius and an XM receiver (or two XM/Sirius receivers) for under $1049 after the 15% coupon. You could then sell the receivers to get some of the money back, and you'd save a chunk of change after that. Don't forget you're also saving by not paying sales tax by ordering from Crutchfield (unless you live in VA or a retail tax free state).

For me, instead of paying $999 + $50 tax at my local retailer, I got the D3 with XM NavTraffic (which alone is about $200 retail), Sirius Receiver, the iPod cable and a Trim removal tool for $1110 SHIPPED. What a sweet deal, and I didn't even use a $20 coupon!

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 03:26 UTC#85

Thanks for all the comments guys, I guess it is a good deal if you dont mind reselling some unused accessories.

I will actually go ahead and use the coupon too as soon as I find out that the D3 is Bypassable. *Prays it is by tomorrow since that is when coupon expires*

:o

AVIC-D3 in stock at Crutchfield.com.

2/27/2007

Sales rep said they had 30 in stock!

I ordered one last night using the coupon I saw posted on here. I am new to this site, but thanks alot.

Ordered :

Avic - D3 - Nav unit

CD-BTB100 - blue tooth (until BTB200) comes out.

CD-UB100 - USB bus (can plug mem stick in to play songs)

pac swi-ps - Pioneer steering wheel control system.

Car : 07 Linocln Zephyr.

Burn :D

Had to follow suit, just ordered with the 15% discount.

AVIC-D3

GEX-P10XMT XM-NavTraffic Receiver (to get stocks and sports updates)

CD-BTB100 - Bluetooth receiver

and a crimp tool for good measure.

All in all, $1180

Just as a side note, I was reading Crutchfields hands on review of the CD-BTB100, and it sounds just as capable at the 200 model coming out soon. The 100 model still can support music, phone book transfer, voice dialing and more - that's all i am ever going to need.

Here is what Pioneer customer service told me about the difference between the BTB100 and 200:

"No additional bluetooth functions. However, I am told the BTB200 uses a differently chipset, with higher security. This means it more compatible with newer bluetooth phones. "

if you did not use the $20 off when you ordered, you can still call them and said you forgat to mention that your friend reffered you and they will give you $20 off. I did that after i already ordered and they told me i would be credited.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 15:39 UTC#90

do you get referral rewards or something with your stupid reference number? STOP SPAMMING THIS SITE.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 16:00 UTC#91

Well I know its probably not exactly kosher to post his reference, but realistically I think whoever uses it makes out and he makes out. I just saved $20.00 on my order, and twenty bucks is twenty bucks. Has anyone else noticed when you add the D3 it doesn't give the accessories like wiring harness etc? I had to call them up to have it added to my order. The rep also said it will most probably be going out today.

Yeah, I'm calling my local retailer today; I think I should have waited and just ordered from Crutchfield... :(

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 23:18 UTC#93

I just added to my shopping cart (crutchfield.com) with "low stock" showing, went back to add another pioneer item to get the discount, and then it stated "out of stock" for the D3... Pissed.

Posted Feb 28, 2007 · 23:28 UTC#94

It was posted on slickdeals.net this morning. I figured with the amount of people that check that page everyday, Crutchfield was bound to run out

I think you're right about the 15% coupon.

3A185 works til feb 28th by the way

I spoke to a guy at CF today and he said that the code will expire AT THE END OF THIS YEAR. I asked him to double check and he did -- The database states it will expire 12/31/07.

Who told you guys that code expires 2/28?

So it expires at the end of the year...dammit, I already bought mine yesterday. Oh well, I needed something to get me off my butt and lay down the cash. Still an awesome deal. The $20 referral coupon still works, retroactively - they can apply credit to you card.

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 16:35 UTC#98

I placed my order yesterday when Crutchfield said they were out and I my order shows that the D3 has shipped today, maybe they found a couple of extra units.

Posted Mar 01, 2007 · 16:50 UTC#99

I tried out the 15% coupon today (3/1) and it stil reflected the discount in 'my cart'. Obviously it's not in stock, though.

Since the 15% coupon only works if you've purchased 3 separate Pioneer Stereo components, a lot of people suggested buying accessories (xm traffic, bluetooth, etc.) even if you do not need them - and them selling them via craigslist/ebay.

My question is - what accessories will have the most resale value? When I place my avic-d3 order, the only accessory I really care about is the iPod cord...so I need some help on what else I can add to 'my cart' - knowing that i'll simply resell the items.
