Does anyone have an updated link to the image file for the AVH-4000NEX. Mine bricked today 

Hi, I've had the bootloop happen to me last week Avh 4200 , I bought the image on eBay flashed it to a new quality card, and today I got the software error...now I need to do it again but I'm not sure about using the same files that I bought, would anyone here be generous enough to send me a copy of their IMG for a us/can version of the AVH 4200 Nex, thanks

Ich hoffe, jemand kann mir helfen .. Das Gerät ist brandneu, es war mit mir für 2 Jahre und der erste Start und dieser Fehler bin ich wirklich gepisst und enttäuscht.

I just created a torrent file including the image. Used it for my SPH-DA120. After writing it, you can update the firmware. AFAIK this is the 1.13 version. To copy the image from MacOS or Ubuntu, use:

dd bs=1048576 if=<path_to>/AVIC.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0 # adapt to your needs

On windows, it seems you can use win32diskimager.

hi, how do i use the torrent/zip file please ? and do i put this on the SD card or on the USB, thank you

does any one have a Photo ( or good explanation) of SD card location on AVH-4000NEX? is the 4gb unit just inside the faceplate assembly? I swapped that out and still sideways after power up.

But I'm also not sure I loaded the software correctly ( I'm using a MAC )

using the guidance from this message board, I was able to download the AVIC.img file and via MAC command line I belive I got it not an SD card.

now the unit open up in the Soft/Firm ware is sideways and then the screen goes blank.....

I'm 'hoping' it is rebooting - I'll give it a few hours and see if it comes back. 

Nope, seems pretty dead now, Software error screen, then Blank.

I Think I'll investigate repairs, replacement units in short supply these days.

Got a new sd card off eBay made it past the software error screen but now it’s stuck on updating version0.00->0.00 then fails any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any have a fix for being stuck on updating screen with Version saying 0.00_>0.00 already changed sd card

So I’m sitting in a position where I have a dead AVIC-4000NEX and a working one. 

I’m going to factory reset the working one and try to backup its internal SD card and see if I can at least post a checksum here. 

Hopefully the checksum will be the same as the existing downloads floating around after its factory reset.

Install Win32DiskImager (https://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/) I had difficulty with this version, it kept crashing, so I installed version 0.9.5 and ran it in administrator and it worked like a charm.

 

Write this image file onto your 4-8gb SDHC SD card using that program.

I can't access the AVICHacking site without an account and downloading the the rar file from Mega promps me for a password. I've searched everywhere but cant seem to find it. Can someone point post the password or DM me the password for the file please?
